Question about Emerson EWD2203 DVD Player/VCR

1 Answer

Remote problem My old remote died and I can't get the universal remote to work - I don't mind getting up to push "play" to play a dvd, but can someone tell me how, when I rent a dvd with more than one part on it, how do I advance to the 2nd part using the manual buttons on the dvd player itself?

Press to view the DVD picture in fast reverse motion

Press to skip Chapters or Tracks.

FWD Button (DVD)
Press to fast forward the Disc. Press PAUSE, then
press this button to begin slow motion playback.
Press this button repeatedly to change the forward

You may have to repeat code search to get the remote working again. They have a tendency to become absent minded, especially when batteries are weak.

Where can I get a replacement remote control for my old Insignia TV and my DVD player?

There are a number of inexpensive universal remotes available that should be able to handle both units. Brands such as RCA, GE, and Philips come to mind.

How can I make a DVD play using a RCA remote control? I have the menu up but no combination of button pressing will allow me to play the DVD.

The Logitech Harmony Remotes are the best thing I have run across for universal ease. I have set up 5 for different clients and the start at about $50. I think you might be happy to switch to one.

Codes to Samsung DVD/VCR are: 0455 0963
Buy one universal remote control, which have these set up codes for its DVD/VCR codes list. You can get this detail from the code list attached with the remote control.

My GE universal remote for RCA Scenium tv doesn't work the DVD part

If this is a combo unit (TV with DVD built in) you need the original remote---Universals almost always are missing key features the original remote had as most companies have someone else make the unit and put their name on it.

Not much you can do without a remote for this model except play 1 disc (CD or DVD) manually at a time. You could try to obtain a replacement of the original remote directly from Panasonic, or you can look again for your lost one in your home, or you can try a (cheaper) universal remote with this unit. The cost depends on what type of remote you get and where you buy it from (if you order through Panasonic there may be an additional shipping charge). Sequential play (one disc after the other automatically) usually can only be set using the remote.

The fact is, this player needs a remote for full functionality If you want random/sequential play for multi discs, the original Panasonic remote is required - try ordering this first if it is available. If not, then consider a universal. (you could also look on eBay for a similar DVD player remote for this model)

Switching to play video games--how do I do it?

You are going to have to order a origanal remote that came with the TV to do this because the universal remote does not have the game mode feature! Go to www.remotes.com to order yours!
