I had the same problem. I looked up in Maxtor customer support and found the following:

When you start Retrospect Express HD it keeps hanging on Updating status.

There is a bug in Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 that could contribute to the Updating status… error you get with Retrospect Express HD.
Solution: To solve this problem upgrade to Retrospect HD 1.1.
Please see Answer ID 2647: Installing the EMC Retrospect Express HD 1.1 Upgradefor the download and installation instructions.
McAfee Personal Firewall Plus Edition or ZoneAlarm can also be attributed to this hang condition. Adding Retrospect HD as an exception in McAfee Personal Firewall Plus does not resolve the problem. Please see
Answer ID 2152for more information.

Sorry if the links don't wok but ou can find all of this on the maxtor site.

good luck!

Coilated framing nailer will drive 2 1/2 nails but gun jumps and only sets nail about 1/2 way in with 3 1/4 nails with full airline pressure.

Hi Paul,

The reason is that you are allowing the nail to "push" you off the wood when the tool fires. Probably you're using a very hard wood with a ring shank (Annular) nail. The best way of overcoming this is to push just a little bit harder down onto the tool before firing.

We see this quite often when people are just starting out with these tools, don't worry though, it gets better with practice!

I have a Hitachi NR83A3 framing nail gun. It won't drive nails flush. Adjusting the depth screw from one extreme to the other doesn't appear to help. Any ideas?

Hi Gene,

OK, so there's a factory recall on this one as you understand it. Have you been in contact with Hitachi, or one of their service centres to check this is correct?

If this is NOT the case, it could possibly be that the timber you're using could be too hard??? just for you're own piece of mind, have you tried to fire the same nail into some soft pinewood to see if the result is the same? You've got everything else under control - pressure, leaks etc. so, the timber density may be the issue?

Paslode framing nailer: compressor powered, hisses but will not shoot nails, appears to be in the sliding mechanizism that touches the wood first before it will shoot, help

I've used paslode for years and whenever there was a "hiss" of air and no fire- it was o-rings- When were the o-rings changed last? And how do you know they are in 'good shape'? You can't tell by just looking at them. If that isn't the problem then I can't help. Just as an aside- do you oil the gun (down the air intake nipple) every time you use it? Lack of oil will wear out o-rings fast. Sorry if this isn't overly helpfull but most gun problems are o-ring or seal related unless you've worn out or damaged a mechanical part.

Does the campbell hausfeld model sb504000 2 inch nailer/stapler need an external air to get started?

Sb504000 works just fine with pressure range from 60 to 120 psi depending on material. Any small compressor will work great. Using the gun at max pressure will shorten the life of the gun. Best practice is to set pressure to just under 100psi for most work and increase pressure when nailing hard wood. Using at max pressure will strain the driver and the lower part of gun (screws that hold nose to body). Some hard woods will bend an 18 gauge nail. Good luck with your gun and have fun with your projects.

Using recommended 3 1/2" nails; cannot get the nailer to sink the nail all the way to the head. Depth is set to max and air pressure within recommended range of 70 to 120 p. s. i. g.

remove the nails and air hose. tap the gun lightly and does the driver fall down?? if so it needs new o rings and doesn't have enough seal to drive the nail. also look at the condition of the driver. FOLLOW CLOSELY, reconnect the gun and remove the nails pull back on the follower and using a piece of wood to activate the safety hold gun at an angle, weara safety glasses and depress and hold trigger to expose the driver, does it extend past the nose and LOOK DONT TOUCH to check the condition of the end. release the trigger. this should give you some ideas why. also recheck the nails for proper collation and head are they clipped or full round. Let me know and I will try and help further. READ closely before attempting the above ideas.

I have changed the fuse on my microwave.dont know to put back the wiring on the capacitor

Generally, two wires, two clips - put one on each. I sure hope they are discharged before you touch them - potentially about 20,000 <> volts. There may be a diode or other electronic device that goes to ground from one of the terminals.

Each of the two termnals may have two or more places to clip the wire ... but it is still the clip.

Yours may be differrent - if it is, please post and I will address that issue

You dont mention the brand of oven.

Can't remove fuel cell---- im350

Sounds like your accuator is shot. That`s around $12. You can buy the pin with the bushing seperate. Also check to see if black bar is upside down(where head bolt goes on top on each side)

Dewalt dc618 nailer is not firing

I have both the DC616 and 618 and have used them sucessfully for about three years. Two main things go wrong. There is a drive belt that breaks (drives the spool that give the energy to drive in the nails), second are two small rubber bands on either side of the drive head that break. The bands can be accessed by taking off the front silver cover, the drive belt is access by spliting the case. Make sure you are using the correct nails or the drive pin may become bent and will jamb repeatedly. Hope that helps!
