Re: Transferring video

You will have to contact Zio's old website for a "program build upgrade". It's free & can be downloaded on top of your existing program. It should install all of the latest drivers & upgrades for that program. Zio is now defunct and is under the Pinnacle wing. Contact Pinnacle if all else fails. They will be glad to assist you or sell you one of their products - which might be a favorable solution.

you will need to hook your camera up to the fire wire to transfer itto the converter so connet the firewire to the camera and hit the play button however I don't know if your converter has a program that finalizes the video once your done recording. On some camera's it will finalize the DV and then it is the only thing you can use to transfer to the DV converter or to your computer, let me know what type of camera you have and I can tell you how to connect it to do it.

Is this the right product for me

Yes, but make sure the model type is what is listed below although they should all be the same today as there are no standards war. For your PC you will need a video capture card unless your video card has it, chances are it doesn't. You would have an adapter already that came with your video card that has plugs coming out. There would be 5 or 6. If you don't go to or and do a search for "video capture card" Prices range from $50 and up. Get one with the best warranty is my advice and if you wish I will find one for you from a reputable card maker. Just ask me by commenting below. And if you have any questions about the details below just ask me by commenting back to me.

Probably you need to do this in two stages.

1. Save the movie to your HDD - is good free software for saving clips, for example, from youtube etc.

2. You need a video card with a TV output to transfer the clip to your TV screen. Maybe your Pinnacle card can do this?

Hope I understood your question correctly.

I found the CM-50000 (Version driver for the Zio CameraMate Real Time Video USB device from this site:

The filename is "" containing the following files:

Downloading is free after viewing some ads.

On my WinXP SP3 computer, plug in the device, then select "Install from a list or specific location" and point to the directory where you uncompressed the "" file. This will install two items in your Device Manager:

Imaging Devices -> USB Video Device
Sound, video and game controllers -> USB Audio Device

Loading a clip

It really depends on what format the video is in. AVI files are just containers - they can contain various different video formats.

EDIUS v4 supports more AVI formats, so if it plays in Windows Media Player, then it's more likely to work in EDIUS v4.

EDIUS v3 supported only Uncompressed, DV, Canopus HQ, and Canopus Lossless AVI clips.

Could use some help

Hi, Try this trick to get around Microsofts silly habits. [We all have come across them somewhere] Open "my documents" create a new file, name it to suit your video, plug your camera/player in and run the video into the created file. Then simply send the file as an attachment in an email. Ensure you tell the person you send it to exactly which program you used, so when they open it window's does not get confused. This can be done from MS PowerPoint/ MS Office and several others. Goodluck. mistyman
