Question about Miele Dryers

4 Answers

I have a Miele De Luxe - electronic T 380 dryer. When you press 'on' -- you just hear the clicking, just like you do when it's starting -- but the drum doesn't turn & the clothes don't dry. The light goes on as if it's working. When I turned it on last night & went to check on the clothes after an hour (I thought it was working) they were all wet -- the inside of the dryer was really hot though! We've never had a problem since we bought it (in 1990?) Please let me know how I can go about fixing it. Thanks, Carol cmelo5@sympatico.ca

It seems like your dryer is jammed mechanically,it happens due to dwmwged water seal.
check them up.
try rotating your dryer manually with hand,.
clean and lubricate it.

Here is what to do:
1) Check and clean the lint trap.
2) Be sure the dryer isn't pushed so close to the wall that it pinches off the airflow through the vent's air duct hose.
3) Check the point where the air duct vents away from the house. Be sure plants, birds, or other objects have not blocked it. If the duct vents out the roof, it could easily be blocked with lint.
4) Disconnect the air duct hose from the back of the gas dryer, and clean out built-up lint. Note: For safety, first turn off the gas to the dryer, and then unplug the dryer; this means you will have to relight the pilot light later if the dryer has one (read your owners manual for proper relighting techniques).
5) If necessary, clean out the ductwork from the dryer to the exterior wall where it vents; this may involve disconnecting sections. One trick that sometimes makes this job easier (but only if the dryer duct is fastened firmly at all connection points) is to blow lint and debris through the duct and out the exterior wall vent, using an electric leaf blower.

DRYER STOPS/STARTS DOESN'T GET HOT ENOUGH

dryer duct blockage caused thermal limiters to trip. four t 20 screws remove the heater bank cover on the back of the dryer. unplug the dryer. unplug the dryer. did i forget to mention, unplug the dryer? remove the heater bank cover, and press the three red buttons in the center of each thermal limiter. at least one of them should click when you press it. replace the cover, plug the dryer in. it will now heat, but if you dont fix the blockage it will trip again.

We have a Hoover Elecron Dryer De Luxe D6292 and the drum will not turn. There is a loud clang and the belt is no longer on the pulley arms. We have tried replacing the belt, but each time the drum rotates...

here is a picture of some belt diagrams:

http://www.applianceaid.com/images/belt-config.JPG

Now there may be a problem with the drum rollers/glides or idler arm:

rollers/glides:

idler pulley(third on list right under motor):

Hope this helped Tim

Our Miele dryer gives a clicking sound each turn of the drum. But when in hold mode: pausing, reversing, then rotating -- there's no clicking sound. Is this normal, or time to call a Miele repair person?...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The clicking sound that you hear can be caused either by the timer going bad or the electronic board itself has gone bad. As the dryer works when in hold mode the problem can be with door switch or the motor relay. There are some tests involved that should be done in order to verify which part has gone bad, so you know its always better to get this checked by a tech. so to avoid any add on charges. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Dryer won't start

Jon
Some dryers now come with a lot of electronics to run them and with electronics and heat, they don't like each other.
The click you hear is a relay switch on a board inside on or near a power board simular to a tiny computer,
Rplace that board.
Now to know which board is another question,
With the power removed (unplugged) disassemble the top part or the back of the dryer. When inside follow the main wires from the plug and see if it meets a electronic board. It could be or maybe burnt. That is you main power board, take it to an appliance shop to replace it
Take along your model# of your dryer
Happy drying

Kenmore he2 electric dryer

The lent sensor is either dirty or is bad. It could also be the control board that is faulty as well. Unless you know electronics and have the proper testing tools, I would recommend calling a service professional. Hope this helps and that you have a fantastic weekend.
