Question about AmbiCom V0552 Tripod

1 Answer

I need the camera mount to use with my Ambico V-0540 tripod

Where can I buy just this camera mount? The one that screws into the camera or camcorder, then attaches to the tripod. At a camera shop the lady said it was called a T mount. So I'm not sure what to call it...

I see tripods that are sold that do not show it.
Does the tripod come with this or does it come with a camera? I've got a 35mm cannon ( not digital )

I've had both camera and camcorder for a very long time...so can't remember how I got this attachment. My husband thinks it came with the tripod.

Thanks for your help and time.

Thanks for your help! I checked out ebay and most tripods are MISSING this T-mount. I also looked at B & H photo video. For now will deal with it and maybe I'll get a new one from Santa! :)

I have an Ambico tripod. Bought it 10-12 years ago. It's in excelent condition BUT the little adapter plate that attaches to the camera and fits into the quick release is lost. I don't know the model number of the tripod and can't find anything through a Google search. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

T-mount is the correct term.  Ebay, if you go that direction has some.  The other alternative is B & H Photo Video.

Ambico is no longer in business, it's probably more worth your time and money investing in a new tripod.

How to put a camera on it

If it's a quick release tripod you need to remove the quick release plate (Usually a release lever to the side of the top of the tripod) and then fasten the plate securely to the camera and then the plate to the tripod. Older non-quick-release tripods have a knurled screw located below the flat area where the camera is attached. If the screw is missing, get a relacement from your local hardware store - 1/4" -20. (Find a way to keep the new one from getting lost.)

I have a SLIK Single Action Panhead Tripod. How do I mount the camera on the tripod?

it is a quick release plate. there is usually a button or lever to release the plate. you then screw the plate into the bottom of your camera or camcorder and mount the plate back onto the tripod. you can leave the plate on your camera when you store it to allow for faster setup.

Screwing camera onto tripod quick release

Usually the camcorder has a hole next to the mounting screwhole. The plastic nub fit into the unthreaded hole, the mounting screw screws into the threaded hole. The nub is to help prevent the camcorder from rotating while you are using it on the tripod.

Hi misguy,

I´ve got the same problem. with google I found:

www.SpartanPhotoCenter.com

QS-14 Quick Release
for Ambico tripods and others using a square dovetail with a 41mm wide opening. It fits standard 35mm or video cameras.
qs-14.jpg 1 2 3 4 5 Promaster 3502 QS-14 $ 12.99

Maybe, it solves your problem.

For me the price and especially shipping to Europe ist to much, so I´m keeping searching.

Yours Uwe
