Question about Refrigerators
I want to make sure I have your answer correct. I turn off the ice maker. That will make the water stop coming out of the water dispenser? or will it still come out and that is how I know the diode thing is broke? And is this diode thing easy to fix or do I need to find a repair person (which is not easy where I live)?
Yes IF you turn off the ice make it should stop the water from coming out of the water dispenser.
If can you strip and splice a wire you can install a new diode....
1) unplug the refrigerator
2) Remove the back cardboard cover
3) Find the water valve at the right side. wires that go to the water valve you will is a diode
4) cut and splice in the new diode...
Let me know if you do it ,,,
