Dial Tone - Lexmark X4270

The user manual for this device suggests a few things on faxing.

1) Use the On Hook Dial options.
2) Try using *9* on the number pad to disconnect.

ive had this printer in storage for a while and want to use it again. problem is that i dont know what parts to use. i really only need it for the printer right now and i have the ubp hooked up. do i need to connect the phone line to use the printer?

I had the same problem & i realized that the phone headset was plugged in to the wrong jack.The handset plugs in to the jack on the side.

There is usually more than one phone plug one for the hand set if yours has this and one for the phone line. And one for something else possibly another phone. Make sure you are plugged into the right one. Then you will have to program it with your phone number and set settings to your taste or need. This can help you to clear up your problem. I did the same thing on mine. Play with it alittle bit and you will get the hang of it.

1.Chech the Receiver cable It should properly inseted or not?
2.Reset settings(Choose Factory Settings only)
