SOURCE: cannot get front panel off

Remove the front panel by following these steps:

1. UNPLUG dryer before servicing.
2. Open lint screen and remove lint screen filter.
3. Remove the two screws at the lint screen opening.
4. The top panel with console, should lift up at this point (you may have to pull it towards you slightly if there are retaining clips holding it in place).
5. Unplug the door latch plug (small white connector plug).
6. Locate the retaining screws that hold the front panel in place. There should be one screw on each side of the cabinet interior at the upper left and right corners of the front panel.
7. With the screws and connector plugs removed, the front panel should lift up slightly, then come off.

NOTE: Note the position of the small retaining clips at the bottom left and right corners behind the front panel. These clips will insert into two slots at the bottom corners of the front panel to hold it in place when re-installing.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you still have questions, please let me know.

PS You can go to and type in the same model number you provided. There are helpful exploded view parts diagrams that can assist you. The "Top and Console" and "Cabinet" headings will help you with disassembly (if needed).

Where will I find the heat reset button on my tcm580 condenser dryer

Hello Mandy, I am not sure what you mean by a heat reset button; perhaps explaining what the problem is, I may be able to assist you. Are you referring to the dryer motor's overload reset button? As a safety feature, a dryer has a high-limit thermostat and either a thermal fuse or thermal cut-off fuse.

In the event of poor air flow where there is no proper ventilation to the heating element- the internal temperature of the dryer exceeds its high-limit, the dryer will shut-down; once it cools off, you should be able to run it again.

However, if the thermal fuse (located on the blower housing) or the thermal cut-off fuse (located on the heater housing) goes, the dryer heating element will will not heat up or the dryer will stop running altogether.

Please note, a dryer will have either a thermal fuse OR a thermal cut-off fuse, but not both.

By-the-way, there has been a recall on certain models of HotPoint Creda, and Indesit tumble dryers due to a fire hazard risk; I am sending you the link...If your dryer is manufactured by HotPoint model TCM580, then your dryer maybe affected. Read the info in the link- it'll give you instructions on how to determine if your specific dryer is affected and what to do.

Kitchen Aid Dryer Gas/Front Loading Model KGYS750JQ1

Does the noise stop when you let off the start button? If so you either have a bad motor or something has gotten into the blower keeping it from turning. If the motor is running but drum not turning, you have a broken belt. Please post the complete model number from the dryer and I will try to help you with diagnosing and repairing the problem.

Can you please tell me where the reset button is ? I hate to pay someone $100 to do this. Thanks, Jo Ann Deloy

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

While I don't have a video or diagram I can tell you on the LG dryers there is indeed a "reset" for the heating/burner funnel (as you obviously know) on the right hand side of the funnel, however they also incorporate a no reset "hi-limit thermostat" on the left side of the funnel. Once it is tripped it must be replaced. This is only present on the gas dryers.

It is located on the left side as I mentioned, but the other is on the right side of the heater housing/burner funnel and will resemble the images shown below.

It is part number 6931EL3004B ( the reset type is part # 6931EL3003C ) and available at "searspartsdirect" (which also has a illustration which may help you) or "" to name a couple.

With the aid of an ohm meter you can check the non-reset for continuity, the other you should be able to push the center reset button ( listen closely for a "click" ) but it too can be ohmed out for continuity to confirm or dismiss it's condition.

Hope that help`s move you forward. If so please take a second and rate the guidance and a testimony to the assistance you received here at FixYa, either or all is appreciated.

Let me know if you need any further info and I'll continue to help in any manner I can. Good luck

Gas dryer runs but no heat. Wondering if an ignighter is to blame and how to check that

When the dryer won't heat it is the thermostat/thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset.
Hope this will help....

Is there a reset button on a kitchen aid electric dryer...appears to have over heated and I just cleaned it up. Can I just press a reset button? If so,where is it? EastsideRose

There is no resettable fuse on this model dryer I hate to say. If the thermal fuse blew out, you wont get heat, but dryer will run. If dryer doesnt run at all, you will have to remove the back (if your model # is right) and replace the thermal FUSE (not cutoff). Three screws on either side of the back, three at the top near where the pigtail goes in. You will see a small white fuse with two wires going into it. Very easy to fix, and part very inexpensive.
