Question about Genius MousePen 8x6 (MOUSEPEN8X6)

Tablet's pressure sensitivity died

Hi, I've had my Genius Mousepen tablet for nearly two years and despite some failures here and there (I daresay i've encountered nearly all the problems posted here at some time or the other) it was still working up to last night, when the pressure sensitivity died on me :(.

Currently I can still move the cursor around the screen and click using the pen, but pressure senstitivity is non existent. It doesn't work in Photoshop. More importantly. it doesn't work in the tablet's default settings window's box for testing pressure sensitivity. When I try to draw in that box, nothing appears.

(for a visual explanation of what I mean: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l167/sinner_redeemed/nopressuresensitive.png

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the problem will just magically disappear, as my tablet's problems somehow often have in the past, but I'm not very optimistic about the chances of that. So, anyone know a fix for this or even what's causing this problem?

Maybe it's time for a new tablet...

my tablet pen pressure all of a sudden just stopped working yesterday, and it worked for a few hours early this morning (around 1:00 AM) but then it stopped working again.
    any ideas?
    i use a Genius tablet.
and if it helps in any way to know this, the weather has been all weird up here, power went out around like 1:46 AM, and when it came back on, not only had i lost my picture, but say goodbye to pen pressure.
anyone know how to fix this?
would really, really REALLY be appreciated, it's my only way of drawing and getting it posted online so my friends can see it.
yeah, i be a geek, all of my friends are in different countries.
any ways, help would be welcomed and awesome.

Every time I try to draw, it would switch tools even when I don't press the buttons. I experimented to see if the buttons were being too sensitive by touching them very very lightly and apparently, the buttons are the ones malfunctioning. I switched the battery to see if it would help and upon taking out the battery, I found some greasy liquid around the battery (maybe from leakage) and I think that's probably what caused the malfunctioning. My pen has fallen a couple of times but it still continues to work fine after falling. Now it's malfunctioning. Any idea on how I can fix the pen or its buttons? It's very frustrating to draw with a malfunctioning pen.

I've had this happen to me before. Genius tablets are not the best for this sort of thing!

Here's what I did:

  1. Unplug the cable
  2. Remove the Genius drivers and software
  3. Download and install the newest drivers from Genius
  4. Plug in via USB
  5. Test
You can also try a different USB port, but I do suggest removing old drivers first.

I have a MousePen 8X6 graphic tablet and by mistake I plug the device to my laptop before installing the tablet software. Now I can not install this software anymore.

With the tablet unplugged from your system, Install the software that came with the MousePen. This will ensure that your system has all of the necessary drivers.
Once that has completed, plug your tablet into a different USB port on your laptop than what you used before. Once you complete this, it should work. What version of windows are you using?

Tablet pointer doesnt match up when working in programs like GIMP

Same problem is happening to me.

I completely understand your frustration. I contacted Trust and they replied that they had no reported problems of the sort, and that it was the software/my pc. :|

Figured out it has something to do with the pen pressure function.
It's only in software that uses it, that it does that with.

Once I figure the rest out, I'll let you know. ;)

Should the green light on the tablet be on when it is plusgged into the usb port?

The first time I got mine, it did and I made sure it did. Now it doesn't.. yet it still works. But maybe it doesn't because my computer does not recognize it as a tablet and that it thinks its a mouse since I have no pressure sensitivity.

My pen wont respond on the tablet

No software aside from drivers are necessary. The Genius Tablet comes a configuration menu you can test. If you don't have this, you can get it for free from Genius' website.

You need to hold the pen close to the tablet to allow it to detect movement. I hold my pen <1cm from the surface. You may want to check the batteries.
