Hi, my Pro Form 470cx has just started to stop when I walk on it intermitently. The belt is running perfectly until I stand on it and then it appears to stick instantly on the base causing a stall in the...

Susan,

The most common cause of belt slippage is lack of lubrication. Most treadmill belts use lubrication on the underside of the belt to reduce friction between the belt and the platform. This helps the treadmill glide along smoothly under the weight of a person. If your belt is lacking in lubrication, it can catch on the treadmill platform. Apply lubrication every few months to the underside of the belt to prevent this from occurring.

A petroleum or silicone based lubricant is recommended, and most easily applied in a spray can. Simply lift up the belt about midway along the platform and spray a small amount of lubricant underneath from about the middle of the platform width to the closest edge. Repeat from the other side. Apply lubricant sparingly...it can be messy.

Next, turn on the treadmill and let it run for a minute, then check if the belt still sticks. A little more lubricant may be necessary.

Hope this helps.

PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn the left idler roller bolt clockwise 1/2 of a turn. Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt. If the walking belt has shifted to the right, turn the left idler roller bolt counterclockwise 1/2 of a turn. Then, plug in2_bing.gif the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered.

I work in a fitness centre and we have schwynn bikes in our spinning studio. Customers keep complaining that some of the bikes are slipping?? Schwynn have assured us it is their technique and they are...

Schwinn may be right in that the spin bikes have a "clutch" on the flywheel that would keep it from causing to much damage to your leg if you slipped off the pedals. Also as the bikes get used these can become worn and require rebuilding, so some bikes wear faster than others so one may seem fine and another slips. Get on the bike pedal forwards and try to stop then you can feel it and see which slip more.

How do i lubricant my treadmill

it is an indicator that the belt needs lubricating. turn the power off, and lift up one side of the belt and spray a small amount of lubricant underneath the belt, onto the running board. repeat this step on the other side. turn the treadmill on and run it for a few minutes to spread the lubricant. the oil light should now go off.
this should be repeated every 5-6 months to keep the board lubricated and to reduce friction between the belt and board and will lengthen the life of your treadmill.

Where to tighten belt on reebok280 treadmill?

there should be 2 end roller caps, one on the left and one on the right. in these caps there will be an allen key bolt, turn each one a full turn to tighten the belt. continue to turn these bolts until you are happy with the belt tension.
