661FX-M7 Problems Hello, i have just installed this motherboard into a new system, when i power the system up the fan seems to instantly start running at 100% which im certain is not right. Also this is followed by a long beep, then a pause and another long beep ect, and no signal is getting sent from the pc to the monitor. Any solutions or ideas?

What does your manual say that beep code indicates? Nothing in the manual about it? What does the manufacturer's website and google say it indicates?

The fan running at 100% may be fine, depending on how you hooked it up. However, you seem to have a conflict with the video. The short beep you hear is usually the motherboard recognizing the boot drive. The long beep means something isn't configured correctly possibly the video card...?

Look in the owners manual for the keystroke to get into the bios settings. Then right when you turn it on, before the long beep, hit that keystroke and get into the bios and check settings.

NOTE: if you don't get any video when you enter the bios, there is clearly a compatibility issue with your video. All video cards should put out signal for the bios - even if the proper drivers aren't loaded for Windows.

HP Compaq Presario SR1738NX will turn on, but nothing besides the fans seem to work

Unless you are familiar with removing and installing the internal components of the computer it is unlikely that you will be able to fix this computer yourself. It sounds like there is a hardware fault. It could be as simple as something overheating or even a fan cable coming loose but at almost 10 years old it's amazing the system is still going. I'm sorry I don't have a simple answer to give you to make your computer just work again.

Good luck.

Motherboard will not start

It seems like there could be a short in the system. Check to make sure that the board is tight in the case, and that no foreign objects are causing the motherboard to short. If there is no obvious problem and the motherboard is new, I would return it as a defect.

My emachine shuts itself off, fan working ok, help help

Hi there. When you turn on your system, enter the BIOS setup screen. Depending on your BIOS, you may have a section that tells you the PC Health Status. If you do, you can check what temp your processor is, and it may even let you adjust the warning temp, (it may be set too low). Some BIOS's will shut down a machine automatically if this temp is reached, to save the integrity of the system.

Yes, you may have a faulty power supply. Try testing it with another and see if the same thing happens. Also, make sure that your power supply is connected to your motherboard properly. Easiest way is to just disconnect it from the motherboard, check for any bent/broken pins, then just click it firmly back into place.

If you need me to clarify anything, just post a comment.

Motherboar fail, no video, power supply ok help

Firstly, remove the RAM and turn on the system, if you hear the beep sound continuously that means everything is perfect expect RAM.
Clean the track of RAM at both sides by pencil eraser completely.
Also clean the port of RAM.

Secondly reinstall the CPU with CPU FAN and also clean the FAN.

Third one is that remove all the add-on's card and than turn on the system.
