Toshiba CF36H40 no verticial output

Has anyone else had a vertical output problem, with a solid blue line across the tube? I replaced the Vertical Deflection Driver "TA8427K" and this didn't correct the problem; I have no Vcc on pin 7, could this be a cap problem? the diodes all check out. I would be very appreciative for any advice Thank you Larry Verticial output problem,Blue line across screen.

You should have around 28 volts DC on pin 6. If not, I believe that there is a fuse (F301) which probably blew when the IC went south.
the vcc supply voltage is derived from a pin off the flyback. you probably have a protect resistor open off the flyback supplying it. look for a low ohms resistor(1 to 10 ohms).

, I would first check to be sure that all of the connectors and cables
inside the set are in tightly. Remove them and re-insert all of them.
Next, we need to start looking at module replacement.

Hi,

To my knowledge, for a TA8427K, Vcc is on pin 6, +24VDC (in some models) with pin 1 grounded. Often, pin 6 gets its B+ from the FBT through a diode/resistor series and of course a filter capacitor. You may want to check the zener diode normally connected on the output (pin 2). In some instances, it could be an open resistor in series with the input (pin 4).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

In some versions, there could also be a fuse (F301?) with the vertical B+ closer to +28VDC.

A remote possibility but worth checking, have you determined the continuity of the vertical yoke?

    Hi again,

    Any development(s) so far?

Hi,
You need to check VCC on pin 6 of TA8427K
Pin 7 is output terminal and you will get voltage only when IC start function.
Also check vertical input signal at pin 4.
Below is picture of TV8427K pin configuration and this would help you.

White line in middle of screen on a cx32h60 toshiba tv

The vertical sweep output is absent. Check its vertical output section circuit for the fault. Check all the solder terminals of that section, and resolder them by applying a little more solder. Take special care to the solder terminals of the vertical output IC. If these do not help you, check and replace the vertical output IC.

The color on my Samsung Slim Fit TV suddenly blipped to pink and blue. When I turn it off and back on, it comes on with a green line across the middle of the screen. What's up?

This line shows that there is failure of vertical output stage, may be due to high supply from internal power supply of TV set, check the voltage of the vertical output stage, and after rectification of supply problem replace vertical output IC to get this problem solved.

Several lines run across the top of the screen

Several lines acroos the screen at the top along with picture is a typical fault. You are seeing vertical retrace lines. Either the supply smoothing capacitor to the power supply given to vertical output Ic or vertical output capacitor connected to the vertical output pin of that Ic may faulty. Usually the supply smoothing capacitor seen faulty. It may be over 1500Mfd eletrolytic capacitor used there. It may get value reduced by 40 percent or so, this falult will occur. Please replace the two capacitors together and will get the result.

Television blank , but there is a white line across tube. I can hear audio

Your TV is in what is called "vertical collapse". About 70-80% of the time it is due simply to bad solder joints on the vertical output IC. You can verify this by tapping on the side or top of the TV, the picture may jump back into position. If it comes back it's as simple as re-soldering the vertical IC. If not, the vertical output IC may be shot or it may be missing one of it's supply voltages.
If the picture has been shrinking or had lines at the top that means there are some capacitors in the vertical circuit that were drying out. If it happened all of a sudden I'd bank on it being just bad solder.
Don't run it like that with that bright line for too long or it will burn in on the picture tube. Then if you do get it fixed you will see that line there all the time!

TV: bright line across black screen for several hours.

vertical output ic needs to be resoldered. careful leaving that bright line displayed on the screen as this will cause a permanent phosphor burn into the tube. this can not be corrected once burned unless you replace the tube. mch

Horiznal line across screen

The picture tube itself is not longer being manufactured and the replacement might exceed the price of a new TV.
The vertical line you see on the picture tube is not a failure with the picture tube but a different part inside the circuitry.

I think you have a vertical problem. Turn up screen voltage to see if there is a tin horizontal line across screen. If so replace vertical output IC and the 100uf/35v capacitor in the vertical circuit.

Sanyo 25" Standard Tube Vertical Deflection Problem

you can proceed as follow to fix it.

  1. reduce brightness to minimum to avoid screen burn.
  2. check voltage on vertical uotput
  3. check yoke connector for loose.
  4. check v/yoke winding.
  5. check v/drive from signal processor to vertical output

now your problem how to find out whether drive is there or not it is very simple even you donot have scope.

you simply touch with screw driver or meter prob  at the poibt where vertical signal is input to vertical stage

if h/line is spreadindg or tries to spread then your output is ok &problem is in drive ckt.

for schematic try given site give model no &download it

hope this will help

Mistubishi Diva Horizintal Strip Picture on Tube

Nope, the good news is that it is NOT a Tube problem! From your description, it looks more like a Cold solder in the Vertical Output stages (80% probability. Another possibility is dried out Electrolytic Capacitors in the same stages, or in the Power supply Line to the Vertical Output Stage. Nothing you can do, unless you know solid state electronics. Better get a good Technecian to have a look. he will locate the Cold solder quickly enough, and do a resolder.
