Lcd panel I've just bought a new canon eos 350d and the lcd panel will not show the image of what I am taking a picture of. I can take a picture, and display it back on the lcd panel but just not display what is in the viewfinder when I want to take a photo. Have I got a setting wrong somewhere or is the camera faulty? thank you!

SLR's don't show what your seeing through the view finder on the LCD. That is a function on point and shoot cameras, not on SLR's.

When taking a picture with my REBEL EOS the image display only shows the top half and the bottom portion is black. When I download the images they only show the top portion that was seen in the image...

This can be either a mirror or shutter problem. Take off the lens and fire off a few shots while you look inside...you may be able to spot the problem. I don't think you will be able to fix it but a repair facility can.

Why LCD monitor can not show image

Hi,

It might be that it accidently change the display time of the picture or turned it off. There is a setting that you can change to display pictures. Check if that might be the problem.

Cheers

How do I have the viewfinder image show in the LCD display

The EOS 350D doesn't have that function (Live View). You need to shoot with the viewfinder. Only later models of D-SLRs have Live View functions (EOS 500D, 50D, 40D, etc). You can however, playback your captured shots by pressing the "Play" button

When I turn my camera on, the lcd doesn't display. I can review an image though in the play mode. any ideas??

Rebel XT doesn’t have live view function. You cannot have picture on LCD when taking picture. If you can review the pictures and operate menu on LCD, your camera just fine.

No LCD image when switched on

The 350D doesn't have this Live View function. You can however, playback photos you've captured on the camera. Pressing the "play" button ought to show those pictures. If nothing appears, make sure you have images on the CF card. If you do but nothing shows up, the LCD is faulty and needs the Canon tech to look at.

My Canon Rebel has stopped importing pix properly, despite being quite new. It displays pictures ok, we get to Windows explorer to view them as thumbnails as normal(with 0 kb size!), which Windows cannot...

Try going to the Canon website for your country. It may be a driver problem in that the driver to download your photos is either out of date or incorrect for your camera. I had a very similar problem with my EOS 350D in that it would not import pictures from the camera to windows.
Occasionally my camera would take a photo of 0kbs but since my updated driver 6 months ago it has not done it once. Failing that get a 40D, the difference is amazing!!
Hope this helps.

Not appearing image in LCD after taking picture.

Check the settings for Image Review and set the desired time to display the image. This should solve the issue.

I have just got EOS 400 D CANON DIGITAL CAMERA.

If you're talking about seeing the image prior to taking the picture, like on most point and shoot digital cameras, that is NOT a function available on the Digital Rebel, XT, or XTI.

Canon 350d

No, the so called 'live view' ( seeing pictures in real time on your LCD monitor ) is available only on the latest models that are coming out now ( Canon D40 and Nikon D3 and D300 have this feature ).
