Question about Projection Televisions

The TV won't come on. When I push the "on" button it lights up for about a half of a second and then goes off. Inside the back of the TV, a red light stays on but no picture or light of any kind on the screen. i just moved the TV into my house.

The tv should work even if nothing is connected to it

It could be a protection mechanism (for example because the power supply is overloaded) or an under voltage.
If it is plugged into a power strip, you can test the second hypothesis by plugging it directly into an outlet. May be you can try a different one.
Fixing the first case is not trivial. In any case, if you don't have experience with TV repair, do not open it.

My guess is that something in the power supply broke when moving it and you need to replace the power supply which is very common with what you describe is happening on this tv.

If the TV is shutting down, it could be due to different reasons and I'm afraid that none of them are DIY.
The first thing to do would be to check all the components that are associated with horizontal circuitry of the TV, for example the HOT, flyback transformer, voltage trippler. If those components test out OK, the next circuit to test is the power supply voltages.
If you are able to perform the mentioned tasks, you might be able to fix your TV.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Have the tv checked at a service center or a qualified service person. components inside the tv might gone loose or disconnected as you move over to your house!
have it repair before it could get worst as you try to switch it on over and over.

It seems some lose connections or cold solder joints in TV, specially in power and deflection boards.
If you are tech person, you can re-solder cold joints and TV will function properly. If you have no experience in TV repair, I would suggest to call TV tech person to fix it because projection TVs has dangerous high voltage inside and can be harmful for novice.
Need further help, let me know please.

Hello sir.. As you mentioned that you moved to a new house and the T.V worked fine in the previous house, its obvious that some thing should be wrong with the new place. Please consult a T.V repair expert as it will not be possible for anyone to Fix it unless anyone sees it. The most possible reason will be the Power factor. You please disconnect and first make sure the power outlet is working fine by plugging in any other electronic product.  Also try to connect your T.V to a different outlet in any other room. Let me know if this is helpful.

65" mitsubishi rear projection tv won't turn

IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off:
On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.

I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

Hitachi 70SBX74b Won't turn on

Its the bulb you are looking at about $700 for one. You should get a quote first though. Also it may be the power box but if the light goes on for like s second and then turns off then it must be the bulb.

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask

Blue screen and shut off by self

You will need to reset the Netcommand and tuner settings in the set. The little indented button in the front of the set needs to be pushed in (when the set is off). The front light will blink for about a minute or minute and a half. Then, reprogram the Netcommand settings. This should solve your problem. If you need more information, then, reply to this post and I will respond.

I would suggest taking a look at the power module if that can be replaced. The Fuse blowing may have only been the beginning of the problem. Any recent issues with under or over voltage in your home?
