try installing ms/dos or windows 3.x from floppies, if you can`t do that try a different h/drive but it sound`s like your m/board is on it`s way to m/board heaven

SOURCE: I have installed a sata
Hi, you can download the right driver from here:
You maybe have to disable the firewall
when you install the driver.
Do you have the latest sevice packs installed ???
If not, run windows update.
If there is a jumper on the drive it must be set as slave.
I can`t se if your mainboard has a sata connection.
Hope this will help you.

SOURCE: Bought 2 Jetway barebones system
Swapping power supplies is always a good test. If you can't switch the supplies between the systems, then you'll need to swap the motherboards as you said. From your description, it does sound like one of them is flaky. But since the thing's under warranty, why not just send it back and save the effort? You'll wind up doing that anyway.

Tips for a great answer:
Jan 16, 2013 | Intel D845GVSR Motherboard
First you might need to have service pack 3
XP Service pack 3
a slight overhaul of your computer
second clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor specifically around your CPU central processing unit making sure there is no MOISTURE in the airline
as dust will cause a lot of static which will make a computer overheat and cause lots of problems
test or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE SATA the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive make sure they have secure dust free connections
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty
then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will automatically scan for and attempt to repair bad sectors and fix any corrupt files this will schedule to happen on restart
another way of running the chkdsk utility
click start control panel administrative tools computer management ,disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start should schedule this task when restart
you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage your computer your hard drive then defragment your hard drive
you have to keep a computer very clean & free of dust and give it regular maintenance
also you might download and use this registry cleaner it is 100% totally free to use
and you might need to uninstall some unnecessary programs
right click in the bottom toolbar select task manager applications you will see whats running
also in processes see whats ticking over
do have any tune up programs installed on your computer
hope this helps
