Question about Video Game Consoles

1 Answer

Wii Remotes will not charge - Red light shows all the time and never goes green. When you want to use remotes they have no charge. The Wii console works fine in the power station. Any ideas please as to what may be wrong?

Thank you for trying to help. However I have a confession to make! Although the help didn't have any effect on my problem I decided to re read the very bad instructions and try again by switching Wii on to see what happened. It appears some charge had happened and the red light changed to green when remote removed from powerstation. Then late last night I noticed the lefthand remote light has gone green. So being a bit of a 'girl' I assume we just had to wait longer! Having said all this the morale of the story is to not believe everything you read i.e. instructions and just be patient. Thanks.

Are you using a base station e.g. made by 4gamers?

- If so, as it has a battery slot at the back as well as the slots for the controllers, it may be set to charge this not the controllers, there is a switch on the back.
- Ensure correct batteries being used in remotes (NIMH).
- There are multiple lights on the station and there should be a light next to the remote station you want to charge. If this is not lit, see if there is a switch, if not then was there a special battery back for remote provided by the charging station? As some need ot to transmitt the power to the batteries through a strand of metal.

How do I synce wii remotes

instructions
  1. You will first need to make sure your Wii remotes have batteries. Then, turn on your Wii and go to the Wii menu.

  2. Open the little white door on the front of the Wii game console (this may require using your fingernail). You will notice a little rectangular red button.

  3. Open the battery compartment of your Wii controller, which may require removing the rubber jacket. You will notice a little round red button there.

  4. Press and hold the red button on the Wii game system and the red button on the Wii remote at the same time for at least 2 seconds. I usually hold down the remote button, then press the game console button for 2 seconds because it is easier for me. You will notice the 4 little blue lights on the front of the controller blink many times. The lights will eventually stop blinking and one of the four lights will remain on. The light that remains on tells which number Wii remote you have. The one on the left is number 1. The second from the left is number 2, etc.
***
If you bring your remotes to a friend's house to play, don't forget to sync your remotes back to your Wii console when you get home.

All the best!

Light mode on console itself

you do have rechargeable remotes right? And the light only goes to red if you are not connected to the internet or were connected but unplugged it. i use a store bought charger that came with a rechargeable battery panel that plugs into the remote. so if i take the battery cover off the batteries are attached to it. but that is just me i don't know about you. hope i helped. If i didn't, post a new problem that tells the steps that you take to try to charge them.

My wii has power and the wireless remotes r charged but the console is not responding to the remote. The remote does not show up on the tv screen so I can highlight or click on the item that I want. Help?

I had to hold the red button down on the console for 15 secomds when the system was turned on and the health advisory was on the tv screen. Then I had to sync the remotes. The answer was in the wii manual on pg 66. Thank you for your help.

Wii controllers not working, new batteries, but will not move on screen...

You need to synchronise the remotes. Take off the battery covers on the wii remotes and open up the flap on the front of the wii where you can put a memory card in. Press the red button that is above the memory card slot and at the same time press the red button that is above where the batteries go on each remote. The wii remotes should flash and eventually give a solid light on either the first or second led at the bottom of the wii remotes. When this happens both remotes are synced.

Remotes can't be found

When you change the batteries for a Wii Remote (in my experience) you have to re-sync (reconnect) them to the Wii console. To do this, there is a button on the Wii Remote by the batteries that either says sync or will show curved bars on I think i red button. This same button should be located on the Wii console. You have to push the sync button on the Wii then on the remote to sync them together. This should solve your connection problem.
