If the keyboard works fine everywhere else, then the issue is specific to that website where you are trying to enter your name, and you could try to contact their customer support, if available.

Alternately, try using a different browser. I think that may be the problem, and not the keyboard itself. I would recommend Mozilla FireFox. Its free and very reliable.

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. – I would greatly appreciate a FixYa! rating if the solution I provided fixed or helped you resolve your problem.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

How do I unlock the keyboard of IBM Selectric III???

The Selectric typewriter has several "interlocks" that can cause the keyboard to be locked. When you turn the machine off there is a mechanism that locks the keyboard. When you turn it on the part should move and unlock the keyboard. Sometimes this part sticks and the keyboard will remain locked. When you type any character the keyboard is locked to prevent two keys trying to type at the same time. The machine locks and unlocks very fast. One keys is locked in and prevents others from working. try turning on the machine and hitting every key just a little bit harder and see if it then types. When you shift, as the ball is turning the keyboard is locked temporarily so it won't attempt to type as the ball is turning as that would damage the machine. Sometimes the shift mechanism can cause the keyboard to remain licked as the shift may not have finished it's complete cycle. Also, the return mechanism locks the keyboard temporarily when the carrier is returning to prevent you from typing when the carrier is moving backwards. Only a qualified technician can resolve those issues.

How do i input quadratics on a casio fx1500?

  • You have several memory locations you can use to store values in them. The memory locations are A,B,C,D, M, X, and Y. You use [SHIFT][RCL] and one of the variable names above. Example store 78 in C location: 78 [SHIFT] [RCL] [HYP]. To recall that value press [RCL] [HYP]

  • If you want to use the EQN (equation solving mode, press [MODE][5:EQN] then select the equation type . For example [3:aX^2+bX+c=0] will display a template wher you input the three coefficients.

  • You can also enter any type of equation and solve it with the SOLVE command. In that case you use the keyboard to enter the expression (see above how to enter variable name X). To type in the equal sign (=) use [ALPHA][ CALC]. Once the whole equation is typed in, press [SHIFT[ [SOLVE], and the calculator will prompt SOLVE for X? Confirm and press the main = sign. Press = again to get a second, a third root (if any)

On start up fan runs, no beeps, black screen, no response from keyboard & mouse. Unplugged everything for 30 minutes, then tried again, start up began then went to black screen, no keyboard, no m

in your case, there might be some problem with the main board.
usually no beeps will related to the processor error / mainboard error / ram error / PSU error

to check the processor : try to exchange the processor with the same type.

to check the Memory: try use rubber eraser to clean the cooper plate of the memory. then plugged it again.

in case if there is a power supply error, then try to exchange the power supply using other PC PSU.

if all steps above are checked, the problem might be at the mainboard. in that case, replacement will be the best option.

I can no longer sign into my laptop, my keyboard does not work but keystrokes happen at sign in they are 333333333333333333333333 which types itself so canot sign into anything. Can you help? Do you...

It could possibly (but rather unlikely) be a virus. However, it sounds more like the keyboard is jammed / broken. You can get replacements online, but fitting them could be an issue, i'd suggest taking it to a tech repair shop and getting them to swap the old keyboard out for a new one. This should fix the problem.

You could try plugging in an external keyboard via USB and seeing if this makes a difference.

When i am typing on desktop keyboard something the + sign automatically coming.tell me how to solve this problem.

This happens generally when a particular key remains pressed from within ( it would look perfectly normal from above ). If it is your keyboard then tap it at the place where the sign is there. ( u can always hit hard till your prob is solved ). Tap harder if the problem still persists you can always open up the keyboard with the screwdriver and see manually under the sign what is the problem causing the pressing of the key.

Problems reguarding typing

I think you have a sticky + key. Try another keyboard. If this fixes the problem, The keyboard needs cleaning or is faulty. With care keys may be removed, and the junk underneath removed. Take care when reassembling as the keyboard as misplaced keys will confuse you,

If this does not work replace the keyboard.

I have seen this problem many times. 99% of the time this will fix it for you. The first part of this fix is to backup the current registry just in case you need to go back.

Try this. I really think it will fix your problem :)

1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. In the "Open" field type REGEDIT.
4. Click OK.
5. Click "File" in the menu bar.
6. Click "Export" from the drop down menu this will open a new box.
7. Click the down arrow beside "Save In" and select "Local Disk (C".
8. In the File Name field type BACKUP.REG.
9. Verify that under the “Export Range”, that the radio button is beside "All".
10. Click Save.
11. Click the plus sign (+) beside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
12. Click the plus sign (+) beside System.
13. Click the plus sign (+) beside CurrentControlSet.
14. Click the plus sign (+) beside Control.
15. Click the plus sign (+) beside Class.
16. In the left hand window pane click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} to select that key.
17. In the right hand window pane select the UpperFilters registry key and press the delete key on the keyboard.
18. Confirm with an OK.
19. In the right hand window pane select the LowerFilters registry key and press the delete key on the keyboard.
20. Confirm with an OK.
21. Click the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the Registry Editor window to close it.

Restart your Computer in order for the registry - fix to work.

Keyboard not typing @ sign

Hold the shift key and press 2 (not in the numeric section) and you should be able to do a @ sign, somehow these two buttons have exchanged their properties.
