That depends on what radio you want to use it with however looking at the astatic wiring handbook it doesn't seem to be used on most radios.

good luck

Astatic solid state D104 to Ranger 2995 dx diagram

Hi,

You have to use 4 wires from the D-104.

Pin 1 = Shield + Blue
Pin 2 = Audio white
Pin 3 = PTT red
Pin 4 = N/C
Pin 5 = N/C
Pin 6 = N/C

N/C = Not Connected.

Good luck,
Gerard

Mic problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, the 4 pin mic connector and corresponding pin # would depend on the communications equipment the Astatic was initially wired for. However, the color coding of the wires in an Astatic would be:
  • white - mic audio;
  • shield/blue - gnd;
  • black - NC or speaker;
  • red - NO or PTT;
  • yellow - not normally used.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Astatic noise canceling microphone to 4 pin cobra 29 ltd classic

According to the astatic wiring hand book it is not used. I would leave it terminated but long enough that if you find your having noise when you receive you could still ground it. I'm pretty sure you don't need it.

Goodluck
