Question about HP Deskjet 3845 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer will not turn on/power up.

Hello, I've had my printer for quite some time but i have not used it in the past 6 months due to not having ink. Well yesterday i brought some new ink cartridges, put them in, pressed the power button and nothing happened. I unplugged everything and tried the printer on a different plug in, it would still not turn on. I get no responses from it at all.

Could someone please offer a solution?

Unplug the power cable from the printer..
Press & Hold the power button for 60 seconds when unplugged from the power and release it..
connect the power cable to the printer and directly to a wll jack instead of the power socket and check..

  • Release the "Stop/Reset" button.
  • Push the "Stop/Reset" button two times, while continuing to press the "Power" button.

Ink absorber full, ip2600

I have a ip2600 that has had the waste ink absorber msg come up twice. After trying several recommended fixes involving pressing the Resume key twice then 4 times, etc., I've found the perfect solution. Start by cleaning the waste pads with tweezers, etc.
1. Press Power Off
2. Disconnect Power Cord
3. At SAME TIME, Press & HOLD Power Key while re-connecting Power cord
4. Release the Power button
5. Press the power button again
This will work!

Hp deskjet 6540 power adapter turns on but printer doesn't

This printer have a problem on HP circuit board. Usually its grounded due to ink waste, or not using it like what you said it took about three months. Here is a tip if your printer HP is still under warranty then you can send or contact to HP Center or the one you buy from it. To be sure that your printer is working back normally.
Good luck!

I have a xerox phaser 8500. At startup it states

The magenta toner (powder) in the cartridge is "piled up" to one side.

1. Remove the magenta cartridge.
2. Holding the cartridge ends with your hands, "rock" it side to side a few times, then "roll" it forward/backwards a few times.
3. Put back in printer.... it should work ok.
4. If not, then power OFF the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall or power strip.
5. Turn ON the printer with the power cord disconnected.
6. Plug power cord back in and turn on printer.
7. It should work ok now.

Hope this helps!

G600 printer dock used about 6 months ago. Only

Yes, maybe the ink dry out. Try a deep cleaning several times, from the printer options.
If you don't use the printer, you should weekly print a test page to avoid this problem.

Hello, we're getting an error code of 990 on a GX5050n inkjet printer. The printer is fairly new with only a dozen or so printouts. Thanks.

make sure printer is off. Then old down escape and online button at the same time. Continue to hold these two buttons down then turn on printer. Continue to hold those two buttons down (will take about 2 - 3 minutes). This should clear that message - worked for me!!!

Plz Help my Printer

Hi,

I understand that you are receiving the message to align print cartridges when ever you print.

This happens due to various of reasons.

Below are the possible causes of the issue that you are experiencing with.

The most common reason is an ink cartridge that has one of the following problems:
1.One of the print cartridges is low or out of ink. Black and all three colors must available.
2.The paper has already been printed on or is colored paper.
3.Protective tape on a new print cartridge has not been removed.
4.Contacts on the print cartridge are not meeting the contacts in the print carriage correctly.
5.Cartridge is remanufactured or refilled. Refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges may have been damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.

6.The print cartridge is defective.

So, make sure that ink cartridges have sufficient amount of ink and are of genuine HP should not be refilled or remanufactured.

Clean the cartridges by following the below given instructions:

Using a clean, dry lint-free cloth (a coffee filter works well), wipe the cartridge contacts, from the top to the bottom. The contact area of the cartridge should be rubbed briskly to remove the waxy lubricant material from the gold contacts. The contacts inside the printer may also require cleaning. Using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth, gently wipe the contacts, from the top to the bottom.

Align the print cartridges by following below given instrucions:
To align the cartridges from All-in-One

1. Press Setup.
2. Press 5, then press 2. This selects the Maintenance menu, then selects the Align Print Cartridge option. A page prints to confirm alignment. You can either discard or recycle this page.

Even if the issue persists, bypass the alignment by following the below given instructions:

Press Enter and Setup simultaneously when align message is prompted on the All-in-One.

Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.

Please perform the step given below to power cycle the unit after removing the print cartridges from the printer:

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only
4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.

2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.

Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.

Note:
A semi-full reset will do the following:
The user settings to the factory defaults, Language and country settings on some models, Fax logs, Fax headers, Fax speed dial information.
This should resolve the issue.

Regards,
Lawrence

First, wouldn't print black, now won't print magenta- all new cartridges!

Unplug machinepowercord. Open printer and take all carts out. Plug in power. Machine demands carts. Put new one in: Replace with original ink carts!. When asked push 1 (yes New cart). If you have used thirdparty carts, there could be a prob due to construticon or ink quality. In case there is no bk after 3x cleaning cycles anymore, the head is clogged: This happens because the filter in front of the nozzels is clogged by pigmented ink. DO USE ONLY DYE INK for all types of brother inkjet machines!!!

Printer won't power on

Do any power indicators come on? If not, then check all power connections- if all is OK here, you might have a power supply problem, which, on most printers is internal to the printer. Repair would require tech savvy. If you do have a lit power indicator, and no activity otherwise, such likely indicates an error condition. If indeed printer has set unused for a substantial period of time, ink might've dried inside the printhead(s, as it sounds like this uses separate ink tanks/printhead(s). What repair might be possible beyond this, I don't know.
