Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Xbox 360 wont load...

cleaning the lens usually helps with this. If you don't have the tools to do it, try using a can of compressed air. If that doesn't work the laser may need to be replaced.

I had change of heart, the guys over at 360mods prevailed on me to release this for free.
So for all to see , here is how you fix the update failed error in all cases:

The error seems to happen when the 360 is unable to read from the update source during the update. The only time I have actually seen it occur was when updating from a backup, which is a common cause Ive read about. The other common cause is an onset of RROD during the update. Im not sure what causes the hard drive error. Either way, the solution is simply to supply the 360 with the correct update file either on a CD or a USB stick. Now here's the rub, it has to be the exact same update file as the one that failed. Not a problem since I've made a nice torrent file with all of the updates to date here:

The version number is shown at the bottom of the error screen. PV is for previous version and CV for current version. Just put the file matching the current version (the one you are updating to) on a USB stick, (i.e. E:/$SystemUpdate) put it in your 360, and power up. If you have the right one it will finish updating and boot to the dashboard. Voila.

This has worked for me on 7 consoles so far. 3 of them said they couldn't detect the hard drive and the other four the update disc, so this seems to work in all cases. I hope this can help some people out.

Purple screen - that reads update failed

I finally found out how to fix this! go to this website : and download the torrent. Follow the directions from the second page of this forum: . all you have to do is copy the $systemupdate folder that you need onto a usb drive and plug it into the 360 then turn on your 360. you can find out what number update you need by the number at the botom of the screen or if your like me and dont have those numbers youll have to go back and forth untill it boots up to the right update. make sure your flash drive is cleared out except the $systemupdate folder. go one at a time until it boots up with that update file.

Demo disc problem

well i think you problem is that the update was corrupted, the problem is that you can't get to the console screen, you should try getting another hard drive from a friend and see if it can get the update or at least try to get into the console screen from there format your hard drive, it will erase everything but at least you get your console working again. Hope it works :-)
