I had the same problem with my Fisher & Paykel DD603 SS dishwasher. As the manual suggests, my technician told me to turn the water and power supply off to the dishwasher. This is to prevent any possible further water damage to the unit and your home. According to several internet posts and authorized servicers, the F1 falt is a common problem for the older units (2005 and prior years?) caused by various faults such as an obstructed drain and the more expensive unit leak/flood failure.

My technician first checked for any obstruction in the water pipes/drains. After confirming the pipes and drains were clear he examined the unit. He believes there is a water leak with the actuators and/or diaphagm. Per my technician, a kit would likely need to be installed to remedy the situation. F&P has an upgrade kit that includes:

    • 528112 & 528113 Upper and lower lid actuators
    • 528437 Link Support Retrofit kits (one for each drawer)
    • 529849P Mains Filter Board with updated cover

Costs approximately $225 plus labor. I think I am going to try this to fix the problem.

Has anyone had success using this repair kit? I hope you found my posts helpful. Any thoughts/experiences on the matter would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

When F1 is showing up then there is a leak. The leak is causing by the top lid seal not close down tightly to the opening tube surface groove. Pull out the tube, put in tower in the bottom housing accessing from the left side. Only this side you can have room to put your hand in drying out the bottom. Do the same thing with the bottom drawer since the floor sensor is at the bottom and when it detects water then there is some water at the bottom housing of lower tube also. After Drying it out you can use You can use the lower tube wile ordering parts for the upper tube. Need to order 2 upper actuators and a lid seal with YOKE, if you want to do it yourself. Otherwise, have a F&P serviceman come in and diagnose the problem, not any handyman since the F&P dishwasher is not like others.

Flood switch is at the very bottom underneath the bottom draw in the base floor.Unplug cord.Open bottom draw all the way & squeeze a towel or sponge under the draw & soak up the water..The washer should work now..Why did it flood in first place?
Check that dishes are not stacked higher than top edge of the draw otherwise it can't seal.this can happen when children are asked to stack the dishwasher.Another cause is some models the seal is an inflatable tube that seals the top edge of the draws,it gets cut or sliced buy a plate that was stacked to high when you closed the draw.there should be no clunk of dished hitting when the draw is closed.

Th dish washer that we have is the 2draw dd-603m

A lot depends on how it happened. Is this a new installation or everything was working well until now? F1 error implies the float switch in the drawers is activated as the inlet water soneloid could not turn off. This prevents the units from being flooded.

Are you using the correct pressure setting for the water supply. Check the user manual for details. IF you don't have one, download from the fisher & paykel website.

E-mail for Fisher Paykel DD603 manual

Josh, you will need to have a Tech out to look at it... F/P will not sell you parts to repair it. The F1 indicates that the flood switch has been tripped. There are many possible causes for this but probably the upper drawer link support has broken and is getting stuck between the lid and the drawer in which case you will need a new lid and link support.
