At what time after the booting is it shuting down, check the cpu fan , some times system shut down due to overheating, if its ok, then also check some other RAM.

Automatic shutdowns are generally caused by three things:

1. A ground fault on the MB, which can be almost impossible to track down.

2. A faulty powersupply, which I would buy a power supply tester just to make sure.

3. A heat related error, check all your fans and heatsinks to make sure everything is clean and in order.

Swaping hdd 845 motherboard to 915 motherboard

its always safe to have data backed up

u can swap the HDD

but bootup with the Win2K CD in the Drive and after the files are loaded at the first screen select install then after it detects the OS select R (Repair) and this will reinstall the operating system files and then you can use the system as before though u may have to install the device drivers and motherboard drivers

for any other clarifications u can place a comment in the same question or u can mail me at mail2pvs@gmail.com

My PC is connected to UPS.Whenever I switch on my UPSthe PC start

On the mother board at the front are 2 rows of pins to which wires are attached, going to switch(power) and the manual reset and the LED's. Usually the first 2 sets of wires--pairs of Green&White and red/black&white are for power and reset. Once u pull out the jumper-like attachments u will be able to see whats written on them. Isolate the power & reset wires. Remove them fron the pins on the motherboard. Switch on ur UPS and by simply shorting 2 pins, starts the PC. Now that u have identified the power pins, put them back after cleaning the dust, etc. If the PC behaves as before but works perfectly when the power switch connections are opened & PC works normally after just touching the 2 oins, then the switch need to be replaced......sodeep
