Question about Oreck Sanapathic DMS2000 Handheld Steam Vacuum
I may have left it on too long allowing it to overheat causing electrical damage. It served me well for several years and to outward appearances remains in excellent condition.
I fill the water chamber, plug it in, let it warm up for several minutes and press the thumb switch. The internal steam apparatus makes the usual noise but no matter how long I hold down the thumb switch, no steam is generated.
Should I replace the unit, or is there a simple fix?

ORECK DMS2000 No Steam
First, tested tank and filter flow together using suction via
plastic tubing. Worked freely Second, removed pump
and disconnected hoses and terminals [watch location,
three terminals on pump, two plugs]. Pump has a slug inside
and I could blow water either way. Sucked white vinegar
both ways until check action returned. Use distilled water
