Question about Philips DVD953AT DVD Player
Hi HELP! I was playing a movie the other day and it just stopped. I hit open on the player draw and after about 5 mins it opened. I have a look at the disk and theres nothing wrong with it. I tried to close the draw and again after about 5 mins it closed - straight away it started making loud buzzing/rattleing noises. The display panel just shows lines like " - - - - - " . I don't think the disk is the issue. Anyone out there help me? Dublin, Ireland.
This could be a lot of differant issues. First thing I would do if your a tech or know how to troubleshoot solid state elctronics is try the easyest thing first like unplug unit for 12 to 24 hours. then open the unit and check for ripple on the b+ lines. if the power supply is good i would then check the slider as well as the return home/park switch. The make sure that the slider does return to home and that the drive Ic for the motor is not over heating. If you cannot make these checks then the only thing you can do is try the reset like I said as it most likly will not be worth the bench charge to invest into this unit. thats the way these things are built, a throw away sociaty
