Can not install a game I purchased

If the specs for the game are not equal to or less then the computer specs then you will have an issue

If the computer specs are greater
  • Does the installer cut out unexpectedly? try to
    1. Run installer as Admin
    2. Run Install in compatibility mode ie set at a OS compatibility for game
    3. Check if being blocked by any Anti virus/Security Software, maybe suspend and try install normally or try 1-2 again
  • Does the installer give a message? - take snapshot and post here so someone can point you in right direction

I'm having a problem installing a new game for my grand-daughter

Check the computer for viruses or spyware. I have seen this be a problem when the computer is infected and you try to install a new game or program. Either use an online virus scanner or use something like the Trinity Rescue CD.

Good Luck

Need help installing pc game

What game for one.  if it is an intense game with lots of graphics that makes your computer cry when trying to load then that could be your problem, it could be you have one or more pieces of hardware or software installed that conflict, it could be anything.  try installing it to a different computer and see f you get the same result.  if you do then your install files are corrupt, but if not then it is probly either a setting in the computer or a conflict.

We have a windows vista computer and a game which we havent installed yet because we were wondering if it might damage the game or computer because on the minimum requirments it says that the computer must...

the worst that could happen is that the computer may not run the program. try installing the game, your cd (assuming that's the source of the setup files for the game) should not be affected.

after you install the program try to run it as usual by double clicking the icon to run the program if it doesn't run as expected try this.
1. right click the icon you use to run the game.
2. select properties
3. select the compatibility tab and select an appropiate mode. (ex. windows xp service pack 2)

not completely sure but you may also want to try to run the installation/setup program by changing the compatibility mode so you may be able to trick the program into believing the app/game is being installed on a windows xp service pack 2 system increasing your chances to have the installation running properly.

I purchased Age Empires and when placed into computer nothing happens

Sometimes when you buy a game, they games do not automatically load to install. The easiest way of fixing that. Is to open your "My Computer" and click on the disk drive. Which should say whatever current disc you have in there. In this case it would say Age of Empires. Click on that. The install screen should then come up and and once the game is installed you should be able to play it.

If it does not. Make sure your computer's graphic card is able to run the game. Also check the ram and CPU minimum specs.

I am having trouble installing a PC game. When i insert the CD, the menu pops up, but when i click SET UP, nothing happens. I have tried going into My Computer ect. But the computer ends up crashing.

Generally, installation issues of a program require extensive details about the program and the computer to successfully troubleshoot the problem.
  1. What Programs are you trying to install? What version? Is it a New Game just released? What are the minimum hardware requirements for the game (Almost universally written somewhere on the game packaging.)
  2. What computer make and model do you have?
  3. What operating system (Normally version of Windows) do you have?
  4. What Video Card, What sound card?
  5. Whate version of Direct X (IN WIndows, Start, run, DXDIAG)
These are just a few of the details needed to assist you in resolving your problem.

i think you need to update your antivirus cos viruses might have infected the system files. Update your anitvirus or download latest antivirus and scan you system, then try to install the game. If problem persists, do a clean operating system installation.
