RED STATUS LIGHT STAYS ON

MY WIFE AND I RECENTLY MOVED, AND I WENT TO HOOK UP MY TV, AND IT WON'T TURN ON. I LOOKED ON HERE TO TRY AND FIND CODES AND FOUND THAT IT HAS CODE 44-DVI CABLE BETWEEN FMT AND ENGINE DISCONNECTED. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, AND HOW EASY OF A FIX IS IT? THANKS FOR ANY HELP

I feel pretty stupid, but how do you get to the 283p128050. It sure seems like an awful lot of screws..lol

  • dieselscott Nov 04, 2008

In what general area is this f9a06 on the power pcb located? In the back, the front...I am sorry, but I have no clue on tv's. Thanks for all your help so far.

  • dieselscott Jan 06, 2009

I took this TV apart, and found that the fan is extremely dirty, and all the boards are covered with this thick dust. Would this be part of my problem? Where is the F9A06 on the power PCB? Any pics?

Good Day;
No Power
Causes: Cause #1 1. Red status LED, self-diagnosis error 44, check for open F9A06 on the Power PCB part # 283P128050 on the Power PCB 2. Red lamp LED, self diagnosis error 34. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 930B921002 3. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature, this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds 4. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 3.2 volts DC at connector LE pin 3 and 4 on the Control PCB, if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D776001 5. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector LE pin 3 and 4 check good. Suspect the E2P PCB part # 934C121001 6. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnect the USB connector from the card reader to the front from the Chassis, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds replace the Card Reader part # 299P271010. 7. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnecting the USB connector from the Card Reader did not help. Remove connector FC from the FMT PCB and plug the unit in, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds with FC removed suspect a problem on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002), if the LED keeps blinking with connector FC removed suspect a problem on the DM PCB (part # 934C116002). 8. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the DM PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). See Service Tip VS-78A 9. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002) check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22, and C8F27 (16V 1000 UFD 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). Call for service or look for new product, this TV repair will cost $700.00 plus. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Red light goes on and off

Needs the button put back into place. Look under the cabinet to see if there is an access panel below the switch, would go for all external controls. There would be a chassis with all the controls mounted to it.
Pull the plug before doing any repairs.
Look to see what it would look like in it's normal position. Something has moved out of place that holds the switch to the panel. Very tedious if you have to remove the whole housing.

I have one of the old big screen tvs the hitachi rear view screen projector tvs I am trying to find a universal remote that would work perfect on it as we bought it from someone and didn't have a...

Generally universal remote controls won't work for all functions to any TV like its original remote do. Some functions may not differ, that is, if you try to up the volume, the tV's volume will go down, and so on. The most we can do is to try with other setup codes for the tV brand with the remote control, and synchronize it, check the functions, and accept a code which will give you most of TV's functions alright. I hereby attaches setup codes for Hitachi brand TV' both 3 digit and 4 digits. Try them, and see which code suits to your TV the most.
Three digit codes for Hitachi are: 001/ 004/ 009/ 013/ 059/ 061/ 079/ 088/ 091/ 137/ 139/ 140/ 141/ 142/ 143/ 144/ 145/ 146/ 179/ 210
Four digit codes are: 0088 0059 0142 0060 0072 0004 0009 0091 0001 0012 0061 0137 0139 0141 0179 0227

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

Code Search

If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.

  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.
Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1000 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there.

What does it mean when the status light is blinking red on my mitsubishi wd-62526

When the status light is blinking push the device and menu buttons on the tv at the same time and hold for 5 seconds or more. The red light will then blink a code. It will blink like 3 times, pause, then blink like 5 times. That would be a code of 35. It may blink one time long, then two short blinks. That is not a code blink but indicates another problem. Do a search for the service manual for your tv on the internet and look up the code. Sometimes it is as simple as a dirty fan that won't turn any more. But by knowing the codes you will know if you need a technician or if it is something simple.
