Question about Nikon D300 Body Only Digital Camera

Blank on the Display after Shooting

My Company had bought D300 a month ago. The camera works fine with the display on the monito. But now it doesn't have any Display at all at the monitor.
The problem came up when my photographer partner was trying to change the lense from 12-24 mm to 18-200 DX with VR. The monitor suddenly went blank.
We did some ways to fix it : take off and remount the lense, reset it by pushing the green buttons, trying to mount some other lenses, change the battery with the same type ( we have one battery spare ). But they didn't help at all. Do you guys have any suggestion?. Thank's

Thank's Randy, I did what you've suggested with the reset buttons,

but it didn't work. I've sent the camera to Nikon Centre in my country, and they solved the problem. It works fine now. Thank's again.

Dyel,
Sounds like you tried a lot of the suggestions I'd offer, try to hold the reset for longer than 2 seconds for the reset. It's a wild shot but did the lens get chaged with the camera on? That is a definite no-no. Can cause damage. If it's only a couple of months old and resetting dosen't work ship it back to Nikon for evaluation service.

LCD Screen

Your camera is working exactly as SLRs have worked for the first half-century since their invention. You frame the picture through the viewfinder then take the shot. The display is for menu settings and reviewing pictures after they've been taken. Newer DSLRs will let you use the display for picture-taking (and take videos) but the A200 belongs to the previous generation.

Hi there:
You can view pictures in the folder when connected the camera at pc monitor? but cannot take pictures or movies... the LCD stays blank?
If this answer is yes, could be a problem with the CCD image sensor, if no, your LCD display go to bad and will need replacement.

Check this interesting article about bad CCDs.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Just bought a used d300 and it won't power up. It

Sometimes, checking the battery's voltage discharges it. Try not doing that once and see what happens. Also, it wouldn't hurt to clean the battery contacts in the camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

My Nikon D 300 has no power, The battery is fully charged. I have a spare that I use with my MD 10 grip. There is no display on the LCD; can someone give me some advise, P.S I had the D300 for 8 months, no...

Im not trying to sound degrading, but isnt there a little button on the bottom right of the display that turns it on or off? I know there is on the D70 and D80, Ive never actually used a D300 myself, bu tI just thought maybe thay had a common trait.

Other than that, can you still use the rest of the camera, like taking pictures and whatnot?

NIKON D300

This should make no difference the way the camera performs. I believe that it is the buffer for shooting in burst mode. Is it on all the time?

It should just flash every time when you half depress the shutter.

Hope this helps.

Blank LCD screen on shooting mode, but does show settings. Will not take pictures. Replaying mode works, shows pictures taken before screen went blank. New batteries. What is going on??? Is it...

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):
