Flyback transformer other wise called Line output transformer {LOT} is actually a step up transformer, which supplies extra high tension voltages to the guns. It can be locatee on the main printed circuit board. Just see the different views of the main board of your RCA TV. You can see the flyback transformer at the left top corner, look like a large black componen; with a ferrite "U" type core goes though it. It is the LOT. Line Output Transformer, otheriwse called as Flyback Transofrmer. OK.

Go to www.tvrepairworld.com you need the 270125 flyback kit listed under the RCA repair kits. The flybackk comes with the CD with step by step instructions.

This set needs a flyback transformer p/n 262342, and a horizontal output IC, location number on the board is q14401 and crosses to NTE2353. When you're in there too touch up any bad solder joints you can find. Fixed several of these with the same problem.

It is usually large and black. Its the one with the rather thick red wire coming out of it. The other end of that wire either connects directly to the picture tube or into a distribution block which distributes the high voltage to the 3 picture tubes (guns) in projection TV's. Be aware that this transformer produces high voltage and can store voltage even when the set is unplugged. I hope this helps.

Go back to FBT check and make sure your high voltage wirer is in good.

It is possible to repair it yourself. Let me caution you though. There are a number of generic manufacturers that sell replacement flyback transformers at less $$ than the original. The shop is most likety using the factory original which runs in the $75 range. Figuring on a typical labor rate of $125 for a 32" set gets you to the $200 figure. Realize also, that the $200 will include any other supportive parts that may be required in all probability as well as at least a 90 day guarantee.

The lead going from the flyback to that other device is a voltage divider or splitter as they're incorrectly referred to... To remove the leads press down firmly, twist and then pull up...

Single white line across screen mean a vertical colapse. So you will need the vertical output and maybe a cap around 100uf@50v.

If you can find the horizontal output transistor which is located near the flyback transformer,one lead of this drive transformer is connected to the base lead. (horizontal output transistor). There may be a little coil in series with this lead going to the transistor.
