you want to instead pass the audio from the blueray
either direct to the sa-hr690 via one of its aux inputs
or via the TV

via the TV makes sense

so find an audio out from the tv
some only have headphones
some a pair of phono plugs

so youll prob need phono to phono cables
and then your good too go

I don't really understand what you want to do. The DVD player in the Home Theater, you don't want to use or doesn't work? In any case, the sub needs to be hooked up to the Panasonic, not the TV. The Panasonic doesn't have an HDMI out? If you let me know just what you're trying to do and why, I can be of actual help. I will also need to know what connectors are available to you, and on which unit.

Connect a new dvd player at the home cinema set??!!!!

You can go for Samsung, Lg or any product of your choice. The most important thing is that you check the back of your old player to see the connections, and make sure the player you are about to by has those connections also so that you would be able to connect your old sub woofer and speaker with the new player.

Looking for programming code

Go to www.insignia-products.com, go to their TV section, select 'Discontinued Sets', and look for the NS-PDP42. Once you're on that page, there are still active links to the user manual. Download and enjoy!

I just replaced the cord running from the sub to the dvd player. now my sub will not turn on

hi,
steps to trouble shoot for sub-woofer detection :
1. please check whether the cord is securely connected at both the ends.
2. check if there is transmission through the cord (there'll be a small static through the cord if there is transmission.)
3. reset the dvd-player to default audio-output and then choose the 5.1 sound system which is the correct setting for the th-c6.
4. also check the settings in the th-c6 whether it is in 5.1 mode(whether it includes the woofer-as it can also simple use the stereo speakers)
5. now check the sound output in all speakers by playing any original home-theatre system enabled dvd.

the system will work perfectly if the cord is in good condition, otherwise please replace the cord again, and this time check it at the store.
cheers
