Question about Sony KP-57WS500 57" Rear Projection Television
We are getting the six blinks of the standby light and wonder if you have come across this before...
According to http://www.techlore.com/article/15444/Understanding-Sony-Television-Blinking-Codes/
*** Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
Any ideas or suggestions as to which part may be the culprit?
I'm not sure about the reliability of the information you got. According to the service manual, 6 blinks on this set (KP57WS500) indicates a low B+ condition, a short or load on the 5 volt line, probably on the A or B boards. Start by checking IC2 on the A board, this is the 5 volt regulator. If it is good, then you have to start disconnecting things to see what's loading the line. I would suggest the video driver IC's which are on the CRT pcbd's, you can disconnect them one at at time and monitor the 5 volt line to see if it comes up. Remember to rate this soltuion please. Thanks!
