Have you tried a different cable? It could be broken.
On my Plus 91 with special software (Powerstrip) I can get the refresh rate up to 119Hz at 1024 x 768, but I use 1280 x 960 at 96Hz as it's the highest res I want to use for prolonged periods of time as 96Hz doesn't give me eyestrain no matter how long I stare at this thing.

What is the recommended resolution for HP2009M

The stated native resolution of this monitor is 1600 x 900. If you set your display resolution to that in your computer's configuration, you will get the sharpest display.
Note that there is always a trade-off between sharp image and the size of displayed items on the screen. By that I mean that if you set your display to 1600x900, your text will be sharp, but it will be smaller on the screen than if you see the resolution to 1280x720, for example. The trade-off would be larger text (say, if you have vision problems), but the text would not be as crisp.
Experiment with a few different resolutions to see what looks the best and has the best text size on your screen.
Note also that most browsers will let you enlarge the web page on your display by pressing Ctrl+ repeatedly until you get the size you want. Pressing Ctrl- will reduce the web page displayed size.

Can't get any of my personal pictures to show up on the digital picture frame at all

Check the max resolution of you pic frame (800x600), you may have to resize your pics down in res until they display. Take one pic that will not display and reduce the size 6 or 7 times on a memory card.( ... Make it a litter smaller each time) Then load and show each one until it is displayed. You have found your target size...

LCD monitors do best at their native resolution. There might be 2x2 pixels per spot at that resolution. Once you change the resolution, you might have 2.7 x 2.7 pixels per spot (merely an example). Although a resolution might fit well, at 3x3 or 4x4 pixels, all the other resolutions might look out of focus as each character bleeds over into an adjacent pixel.

The 16:9 aspect ratios are the only ones that will work correctly with this monitor; others will show black at the top and bottom or left and right, or images will be too tall or too wide.

The resolutions you should try are 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720 or 800 x 600. When I look at resolutions available for my 16:9 ratio monitor, those are the three that are bold.. others are available, but would not show the high quality display.

There are also buttons on the front of the monitor to adjust the display left/right, up/down, re-size, focus, brightness, etc.. A change there could make a difference too.

How to configure my laptop so window fits monitor display

Hi ,
You can right click on your laptop , and this will bring up a menu , look for screen\ res. , highlight and click , this will take you to the display prop. ,on the left hand side you see change display res. when this menu pops up , you will have a chance to change the res. I would go with 1024x 768 res. it seems to be the best res. to fill the display .

Using as a duo monitor. when transfering screen image to it, the screen is extremely too large . How do I reduce the size?

Increase the resolution of the monitor with the really large image. Also, in vista and windows 7, go to display and there should be a button to reduce the size of whats on the screen.

Heat from monitor

The monitor, screen, adapter or display of a computer is the primary user interface. Monitor problems are some of the most common computer problems since the voltages inside a monitor can be as high as 10 KV. Many of the problems can be fixed yourself by simply changing the settings but in a few cases you may have to either replace or repair the monitor.
google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad); How to troubleshoot and fix computer monitor/display problems
1. The monitor/display flickers
Check the refresh rate. If the refresh rate is 50 Hz/ 60Hz (depending on which country you stay), it can be affected by interference from electrical power signals like those from fluorescent lamps . Increasing the refresh rate to 72Hz is recommended , since higher refresh rates reduce eyestrain and headaches
2. The display works fine initially, then after some time there are black lines on the screen and then the display disappears
There is a problem with the copper windings in the CRT monitor which are getting heated. It is better to replace the monitor
3. For a new monitor, you get a blank screen or distorted image.
Many monitors, especially LCD monitors, can only handle resolutions which are less than the native resolution, so set the resolution at the native resolution only. The native resolution of a LCD display is lower for smaller LCD screen sizes, typically 1024 X 768 for 15" LCD. CRT monitors have a better resolution than LCD displays
4. The display on the monitor is not steady
This is a result of power system interference from users of the power grid, particularly UPS, power tools and heavy machinery. Try changing the position of the monitor.

5. There is a shadow on the images on the display
Try reducing the contrast setting on your monitor.
6. Monitor becomes blank occasionally
Could be a problem with the display card, check with another monitor. The monitor display cord and power cable should be fixed properly and there should be no loose connection.
7. Dark Spots on the Screen.
Move speakers,USB modem and other magnetic devices away from the monitor.
8. Incorrect Colors - red may become dark brown, blue becomes purple.
Check your video cables and connectors for bent or broken pins and wires. Sometimes there may be a problem with your display card, which can be retuned using a software available with monitor technicians.
9. Run Antivirus to scan corrupt software files.Virus cause distorted characters and images.
10. Set your monitor/display pixels to the software requirements. some softwares require higher pixels to run or to be displayed. some media players, web applications, video games applications and photo editors/view softwares have option to view photos on low or high quality

Some games need 1440x900 resolution to play but when i go to the display settings to change it, its not there just 1360x768, 1600x1200 and lower ones. I need help????

Hi there. If you're able to get 1600x1200 on the monitor, that should suffice--anything equaling or larger than the game's required res is ok...the picture will have a little bit of border on the edges because of the higher resolution but shouldn't be a hinderance at all. Remember this...the higher the resolution, the harder the graphics card has to work to maintain proper movement of the images in the game. Use the exact res if possible. However a close, higher res is fine, too.---Rick

Notebooks usually don't have high res . They trade off the high resulation  for the small size and less power consumption.
