Give them the model number of you dvd player and tell them the problem you are having with the dark screen. If you are not under warranty, You can still call them and ask them where to get service for bad power inverter or a bad back light problem. sounds like a faulty Backlight.. If you just bought this take it back and get it replaced, Check if the Manufacturer's warranty is still valid. if this was bought second hand (out of warranty) I would take it back. as it is unlikely that the prev owner did not know of this issue.
