Question about Acer PH110 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Acer Dlp projector PD311

Recently the projector has been shutting off after 15-20 min after turnig on.
It starts blinking red on temp ,lamp and the on button. The fan stays running and it does come back on but shut right off within minutes turn on.
Help me understand what causes problem. I change the bulb but that wasn't the issue. I have this same problem with my Acer PH530. It has been back to Acer for repairs four times already. They never seem to fix anything though. Every time I fire it up it works for 15-20 minutes then shuts itself off. The temp light blinks for a while. It isn't getting over-heated, there isn't a problem with any of the fans or the lamp... Someone please help me fix this.  I'm tired of talking with Acer customer service reps, sending it in to them – which takes a month or two each time – and then having it return with the same problem.

SOURCE: My Acer PH530 overheats and shuts down after 15 minutes.

Same here.
But i found a solution. I mounted a 80mm 12V Fan on the Air-Intake Side of the Projector, connected 12V Power and viola - no overheating anymore.

It's very loud but i got my Projector in an extra Room in my Basement-Cinema. So noise is not an issue for me.

SOURCE: projector shuts down after a couple of minutes

This probably the fan is not cooling down the temperature of the high intensity bulb. Due to overheating the bulb will shutdown. Get a correct specification fan to replace the aging fan.

We have an Acer P3250 projector that keeps prompting for a password upon start-up. However, when we enter the security password provided with the unit, it says it is "invalid".

Found an earlier suggestion on this site if you don't have the provided password and also already tried 1234.

1. Turn on the projector 2. Press "Power > Left > Left > MENU" (Opens the system menu)
3. Choose "RD Menu"
4. Choose " EEPROM Restore" (the projector turn off and the power lamp blink red for about 1 minut. Then it stops)
5. Turn on the projector again and it should work again

My projector will not power on. I've replaced the cables, the power source, and the bulb but still nothing. The red standby led on the control unit turns blue when power button is pressed but goes right...

The ballast unit has most likely failed. Replace the ballast unit, unless the lamp exploded and in which case, there may be glass fragments stopping a fan from turning.

I turn tv on...green light comes on but i get no picture or audio....then light indicator blinks red

Hello!
Lamp or ballast(if lamp has been replaced) is bad.
Explanation: green comes on: system works, waiting for light to shine into light engine: no light is coming out of lamp, system shuts down, then you see red! how to determine: pull the lamp out of the unit's compartment. Inspect lamp: bloated stem? shuttered? reflector is not shiny? Chuck it!
Lamp looks good or just been replaced: try ballast. Close lamp compartment without lamp itself. Make sure, door is shut, as well. Turn unit on and listen close to lamp compartment: good ballast will make a buzzing noise, then stop. You've got "red'! No buzzing: ballast quit. Needs major repair! Lamp must be good, for sure, to get to the last part of diagnostics. Conclusion: more, than 2000 hours of usage: replace lamp first!
Good luck,
Alex.
