When I open the lens

When I open the lens cover on my Casio, I get the error 'Lens error' on the LCD display, but then when I change mode (say from nighttime shot to quickshot), it is fine except for a slight black bar down the right hand side of the photo. I dropped it in rome. Any ideas?
