How to light stovetop pilot light?

My stovetop pilot light went off after cleaning, how do i light it?

Two burners pilot lights on my GE profile cook top do not light after cleaning. At the time it was only about two years old. What has to be done at this point? Any ideas on how to fix without spending a fortune on getting fixed? One "handyman" said it would cost 275.00 to fix. That I would have to place all four burners. Yikes.

This cook top uses an electric ignitor and does not need to be lit.

The stovetop works fine and broiler, but the oven pilots on both keep going out

It has been my experence that the air mixture gates get clogged with waste grease vapor. these adjustable gates and pipes must be kept clean and properly adjusted. More dirt means less. improper air mixture can cause the pilots to go out. Obvious? True but you would be surprised at the simple things that can foul an otherwise good stove. (this goes for any braqnd)

The pilot don't stay on

Is this the pilot for the oven or stovetop burners, or both? Pilot flames can be adjusted to increase or decrease the size. It's probably dirty which is causing it to go out. Use a small flat screwdriver to scrape the pilot tip clean or a small needle to poke it, if necessary. Then use the screwdriver to adjust the pilot flame as needed. If you follow the small aluminum tubing from the pilot, you will find a small screw on the line to adjust it. If you need more help, just let me know. Obviously, there can be other issues, but this is the most common problem. Douglas

We let our propane tank get empty. It's full now, and the water heater and stovetop work, but the oven pilot won't light. It worked fine before the gas went out. It glows, but there's no gas flow. What...

Call your gas supplier for help. If you feel comfortable you can inspect the tank first and check that the valve isn't off. If your delivery guy knew that you ran out he would shut it of from the tank to protect your home. (since multiple pilots may have gone out).
If the valve is on then you may want to try resetting the valve to the appliance, one at a time. If I'm speaking french to you don't worry but ask a professional for help. Good luck.

I tried to clean my stovetop and the pilot light got wet and now the electric starter keeps firing. I unplugged it for a couple of hours but the starter keeps firing

When trash gets in the pilot assembly, it will no longer work. Sometimes there can be just a tiny speck that you can't see that cloggs up the assembly but it will no longer work.

You can repalce the assembly and save a lot of money by perfoming the repair your self.

Just contact us at: from 7 Am until 7 PM CST and we will tell you hpw to repair it and send the correct parts out to you asap.

We look forward to working with you. Thanks, Ella

You have to light burners on stovetop with a match all the time.

The pilots for the range top are beneath the top of the range top. YOu will see them if they are there. YOu stove may use electronic ignition and you can hear the sparking when you turn the knob to the "light" position.

If it is electronic ignition, make sure the stove is plugged into an operating outlet

Pilot light to oven went out

It could be that the safety ($150 to $250) is getting old, or grease filled. It could also mean the thermocouple ($7 to $12) is going bad, or has a bad connection. If the copper jacket of the thermocouple is blackened near the pilot, broken or cracked in anyway, it may not be working properly, as it generates a small voltage when heated, less than100th of an AAA battery, to keep your pilot lit. If the pilot orfice is clogged with dust it produces a smaller, less hot flame, which also lowers the output of the thermocouple. If I was performing the service, you would automatically get a pilot cleaning, and a thermocouple, the safety could still be bad, and confirming this is a 50/50 chance to begin with, but it is a cheaper start. Good luck, ask more if you need too, thank you, an Happy New Year.
