Re: poulan chain saw 295 pro.
Hi pietras 1, My name is Dennis and I would like to help but what I think may be a problem, has to be confirmed visually, so I can only give you a guess where I'm going with this. The kill switch is a ground wire for the ignition so the magneto current will not jump the gap at the plug. If the ground wire is disconnected from the kill switch the ignition will not be grounded out then you request it to be grounded. Now if this wire that is disconnected is entangled with the rod that connects the throttle to the carburetor that could be the reasonthe machine is a run-away. Look at the linkages in the area ofthe kill switch and see if this makes sense. Please rate the solution because I depend on you for your rating to help me learn toassist correctly.

The proper way to test it is with an ohm meter by doing a continuity test. If your switch isn't working on the machine, there is the possibility that the wire from it that connects to the coil module is loose or is off. I would check for that first and then do the continuity test if needed. The coil is under the front cover of the machine and will require disassembly to access where the black switch wire spade terminal is.
No easy fix here unless you are somewhat mechancally inclined and want to tackle it yourself. Ya could save a good chunk of money doing it yourself...learn about the machine first-hand and hey....there really is NOTHING that can prevent it from happpening again! You just fix it, run it until it happens again!
My service center told me that they are allowed only 2 of these adjuster per year. It has to do with the air quality issue. They don't want back-yard fixer-uppers to pollute the place up. True store - I could not believe it.
The BLUE wire-splice connector, the one that you crimp after you put a wire in each end, is supposed to fit snug around those screws and allow you to adjust them. However I could not get it to work.
If you take a hack saw and cut the lip from around the adjuster screws and then cut a slot in the adjuster screws themselves, you will be able to set those screws with a flat-head screwdriver.
The whole operation takes about 9 pushes of the hacksaw. The lip is aluminum and the set screws are a very soft steel.
hey its broblably a clogged up carburetor which is not letting your engine **** up gas from the main fuel line. my advice is to clean all the filters and passage ways inside the carburetor. Also you may have to replace the diaphram in the carb a diaphram is a thin piece of material that basically pumps the gas into the engine also with the help of the compresiion of the engine sucking it in
Take the casing off of trimmer and see if the one of the wires to the on/off switch is touching the engine. Or it may even be a fuel line. If this is the case, look for damage to the fuel lines as well.
From your Description it Sounds like the Exhaust Port or Muffler is Restricted with Carbon Deposits, the Carburetor Metering Pump Actuator Gap is Incorrect. >>The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated. >>**Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear. >>If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off. >>If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required. Is the Fuel Line from the Fuel Filter Staying Full of Fuel? The Carburetor Metering Jet Actuator is Set so the Pump Diaphram Dowl is Just Touching the Actuator Arm. These Components are Located Under the Cover with 4 Small Screws Holdong it to the Carburetor Body. Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.
