Both the Blue and Red are distorted. I can still do some adjustment to the Red alignment but it will not be perfect - the Red crosses at the sides are not perpendicular.
Blue is the worst - does not response to any convergence adjustment. It is narrow horizontally somewhere in the middle and spread out wide on the left in a form of a parabolic shape.
I've change the two SK392-040 chips and two burnt-out resistors but with absolutely no effect. I also noticed that the SK392 heatsink on the right is almost scorching hot while the other one is only luke warm.
One repairman claim the blue tube is 'leaking' that caused the liquid to have damaged the PCB.
Any other clues anyone?
Thanks

- There is a leak in the red tube. It's beyond me now. The extend of the damage is still under investigation by the TV repairman. He claimed that a high percentage of Samsung projection TV suffered from this problem after several years of usage.
You could or most likly have other componets on the convergence board that are defective. I have found capacitors as well as resistors that have changed value and caused the IC to overheat. It is a possibility also that the board has damage on it due to a leaky tube, as this is not the first time I have heard of this problem. You must inspect the board very carefully and make sure ther are no stains around any componets and if there is clean off the board with a non lub type degreaser made for electronic or electrical boards. Also check the parts around the stains for proper values and tolerances.

I have a Comcast HD/DVR cable box, a dvd player, vcr and a playstation 2 connected to this tv. Recently I've noticed that the screen isn't showing stuff at the top or the bottom. The sides seem fine. I remember when I first got the tv that I could change the ratio between 16:9 and 4:3. That was when I had the cable going directly into the tv. Now, I can't find that option, no matter what input I'm using. I know I want to keep it in 16:9, but it's weird that I can't get to the 4:3 option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
