Capture video from composite input

I am having problem when capturing video from composite input. the video start loosing quality and comes invisible with horizontal lines on it. I have the DV500 connected with the Breakout Box. If I use the s-video cable works fine. no video loose, no horizontal lines. I don't know if the problem could be the Breakout Box or the PCI card.

You should make sure everything that may cause interference is away from any of those cables, such as cable/dsl modem, wifi router..etc because they cause a large amount of electromagnetic interference

Not to my knowledge, however there are lots of "video grabbers" on the market, they are an external piece of hardware that will take the composite outputs from your cam corder and download into your PC through the USB port. Amazon has a large selection and they are fairly low priced..Hope this gives you some insight on the problem...Dave

Choose go directly to the advance mode.
select capture source and choose your dazzle device

I need a picture of how to hook up the dazzle to the vcr

If your trying to capture from a vcr make sure that the cables "composite are connected at the back make sure it is plug in to the video out.

Next, connect the cables directly to the dazzle.

make sure that the vcr is on and it is playing.

In the program Instant DVD Recorder please go to the step 1 select the dazzle as your video source not pinnacle file capture.

Then click option check the VHS input.
Video input must be composite if your using the composite
Audio input must be the dazzle.

Sounds like a driver issue. Maybe win2k is not completely compatible with your video card drivers. Win2k is known to have issues with third party drivers.
