TV turns on but no picture and only blinking remote LED senser?
When I turn on the TV, I get the high voltage static sound of the tube powering up, and the picture blinks slightly, enough to know there is power to the set, then only blank (black) screen, the remote control LED on the TV blinks once every 2 - 3 secs, after any where from 1 min to 15mins the picture actually comes on and I can use the set like there was nothing wrong, it actually works very well, it was and still is a very nice TV. Any help on this would be nice, thanks in advance!

Re: TV turns on but no picture and only blinking remote...
Try hitting the side of the set while you are waiting for the pix to turn on,dont over do it and see if the set reacts,if it does you will be looking for loose conections in the main board or crt board, these solder points need to be resoldered,if you are familiar with tv service it will be something you can do but if not be safe and call for help, the repair should not be expensive right now.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones). click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Good luck!

blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit
goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal
circuits. You must have through knowledge in electronics to proceed. This is a very skilled wor. You must have all measuring instruments, and ability to follow its schematic diagram.
the high voltage or flyback transformer is not working.the sound runs off a separate fixed power supply.if you run your hand across the screen,is there static?that would mean the high voltage is ok but there is another circuit fault
do u hear any high voltage static when you first turn on. possible high voltage problem with the high voltage splitter or focus pack. ussally when there a problem with these high voltage is being generated but not delevered to the tubes
You almost certainly have a bad picture tube. The green screen was from one of the elements inside shorting out. The static sound you're hearing is the high voltage arcing out through the end of the picture tube to other parts inside the set. It's more economical to buy a new TV than to repair this one.
Sorry to have such good news, but this is one of the ways a picture tube can go bad, and it happens quite often.
Pull the back Off Disconnect CRT board connected at End of picture tube then turn set on and see if it comes on with volume, high voltage you can feel front of tv for static elect.... Let me know what happens then i can tell you what is wrong with TV.

Just posted this for the same set:
The sound; is it a click or a sharp snapping sound? The first can be a relay turning on, the second is most likely related to a high voltage discharging. If it is a relay, then the set could be trying to protect itself from an overload or the power supply has failed; the blinking ON LED is pointing toward that. If it is a high voltage discharge (you may be able to see it through the vents in the rear housing) then it is possible that an accumulation of dust and household airborne contaminents has created a path that can be removed with some targeted cleaning.
The high voltage does come up but the set goes into shutdown because is sensing a problem somewhere in the set,the shutdown circuit gets activated when the high voltage is too high, a problem in the horizontal deflection circuit or because there is a problem in the secondary of the output transformer, this transformer helps develop voltages supplies and if one is missing the set senses the problem and shutsdown, there is another possibility and is related to the picture tube, there is a resistor in the crt board ,it should measure 51 ohms only ,sometimes it opens up and gives you same symptom. If you are familiar with tv service you can check this resistor and be alert of the other possibilities,if you are not too familiar be safe and get assistance from a servicer.
Let Us know how it goes,or if you need more information.
Your set might not be producing the high voltage it needs to light up the screen , it might be missing the supply voltage the supply volts to the output transistor ,if this voltage is missing is because the transistor is likely bad(shorted) and it has opened a fuse or a safety resistor. If you are familiar with tv service you have a place to check but you are not too familiar be safe and call a professional, high volts circuits are dangerous.
