Hi Paul,
see page 8 number 15 for location. Than see page 19, System Panel Header in your manual.
The basic wire color's for positive are red, blue, green & can also be light blue, light green, light red.
Negative wires are usually white or black. Case wire colors do vary from case to case.
To see pin one shown on page 19, (positive + for hard drive led = HDLED+). Bottom row farthest pin to the left of set. Pin two is above pin one. Pin two is, PLED+ (known as power led). Pin 3 is to the right of pin one & is HDLED- (Hard drive led, negative). Pin 4 is above pin 3 & is also PLED-, (Negative for power led). ECT!
swapped mother board - 6781222.jpg If your new case has an internal speaker (Used for P.O.S.T, power on self test). This would connect to, Chassis Speaker Header located on page 8, number 16. Again, normally only two wires are used across the 4-pin connector. (One at each end of the connector).

To see ASRock's main site for the 775VM800 motherboard click this link:

Good luck Paul!

Installed new Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7 mother board. Have checked the connections numerous times. It starts up and then shuts down in about a sec. I even unplugged the 8 pin 12 v connector to try and locate...

When mounting a motherboard to the case you need to add some spacers between them so the MB doesn't contact the case directly, most the MBs today have a protection to shut down so they don't get burned

Try starting your computer outside the case (you can use a key or a screwdriver for the power pins to start it).

As you can see the Reset switch is connected to pins 5 & 7 and the Power switch is connected to pins 6 & 8.

This is directly from the manual. You can download it from:

The link is at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for using Fixya. A "Fixya" rating would be appreciated.

Hi normally the pin headers are color coded as follows - green&white for power LED (2or3 pin), red&white for HDD LED,blue&white for Reset Button ,Yellow/orange&white for Powerbutton. On the power switch board the EVEN numbered pins are on one side and the ODD numbered pins opposite -

1 3 5 7
2 4 6 8
A speaker connection is not required because of on-board buzzer. So the connections are for PB , PLED,HDDLED ,RESET. A wrong or reverse connection will not damage your mobo.

New installation of mother board

Hi check the cables from the case to the mother board. They should be marked and the book that came with the board will tell you where to connect them. The std markings are HDD [red led] PWR S [powerswitch] RSW [reset switch] PWR LED [case power light] To test if there is no fault in the board or power pack. first visualy check the board to see if you have a red led light on when the power is turned on, if not the problem is in the power pack or the wall outlet. second if the light is on, the bridge the pins marked pwr switch on the board with a screw driver and this should start the computer, if not you have a faulty board.
