Question about Vivitar ViviCam 5100 Digital Camera

1 Answer

ViviCam 5100 My camera went to MT. with my husband and came home with a protected card. Of course no one knows how that happened. Anyway, I can get to the menu that has the protect mode on it, but it won't let me go to the next menu to unlock it. I, of course, can't delete either.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Vivitar vivcam5188 say protected card wont let me take photos only new problem

remove the memory card, there is usually a switch on them - move it to the other position.

its to protect the data on the card (so you can't write to the card).

Vivicam 5199 transfer fotos from cam memory to memory card

I would look in your manual on this one. I am not familiar with a camera without a memory card. Are you sure there isn't one in it?

Card

Take the card out and see if it is the "Locked" position. Try flipping it to the unlocked position and hopefully that will work. If it's locked i prevents new photos or information from being saved on to the card.

Hope that helps!

Help!?

maybe if you reset the cam and card, by formatting it using the PC rather than the Camera, save what pix u can then format, to format, goto my computer right click camera drive, usually F:\ press format, do a full format, dissconnect from PC then make sure u leave power on and format thru the camera, dont know if its possible top save pix but this shud fix the whole card issue

My 3935 keeps erasing memory cards. All of the sudden, you get a white screen and the camera won't function until you remove the card. This has happened twice; both were Kodak 128 SD. The first time,...

i know it's not solving your problem, but at least it stop from happening again... You can protect images/video clips from being accidentally erased using the protect function in the Playback menu... see also: http://www.fixya.com/BrowseManual.aspx?prdid=218406&mpgid=843814&hlt=erase
