My parrot used to work fine, but having not used it for a while, I now can't get any sound from the speaker. When I switch the unit on it doesn't make the power up or down noise, the unit doesn't ring for internal calls or have any sound when I dial out. It is paired corectly with my phone and the unit does work as I've made a call and left a message on my landline from the parrot. I just can't get any sound from the speaker. Could I have turned the sound off y mistake? Or is the speaker faulty?

Same problem happened first after battery drainage. Fully recharged but problem persists. Have firmware 1.03

I have exactly the same problem. No sound whatever but it looks like it goes through the regular motions as it continues to be paired with my phone.

It seems many people use only the term "paired" when talking about CONNECTING two Bluetooth devices. Connecting two Bluetooth devices means first "pairing" them and then "connecting" them. Pairing is a one time process done only the first time you try to connect the devices. It is like the two devices getting to know about each other. Next step is to actually connect the two and this process is done the first time after the pairing and then every time you want to use the speaker from your phone. When you open the Bluetooth tab on your phone's Settings menu you will see the names of all the Bluetooth devices it has been paired with previously and a "Paired" word next to it. If you want to use the device/speaker, tap on the name and it will CONNECT to it. You will see the word "Connected" instead of "Paired". Now you should have the music that you play on the phone coming out through the speaker. If you still can't hear the music over the speaker after a successful connection, turn up the volume on your phone (and on your speaker, if it has its own volume controls).

Skype not working

Sir,

Click this link for more information........

http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=35

Also Check........

On a PC with external speakers and also a headset with microphone. Windows XP is configured so that standard audio are external speakers and standard microphone is the headset. Skype is configured to use the headset for audio in and out.

This way one can listen to sound from the PC and from MP3 players through external speakers and if there is a call to make or take, this is going through the headset.

But now there is the problem that the noise level for the headset is too low. Increasing volume has no effect on the headset, it only affects the external speaker's volume.

Now the solution: Going to the control panel and opening the sound setting, go to the audio tab. The external speakers are selected as default. Just temporarily select the headset and then click on volume just below. You can now set the volume for the headset, click OK and click cancel (!!!) on the sound control dialog box. This way the external speakers remain as default output.

Skype-->Tools -> Options -->Sound Devices-->audio device/USB/etc Audio Device (do NOT use windows default device)
You can also tick the ring pc speaker check box as this is a good backup to alert you even
if the main speakers are off or turned down.

Windows:
Start-->Control panel-->Sound and Audio devices
On the audio tab set the default playback device to your main soundcard(AC97/Audio-chip/add-on-adapter), etc.
Your installed audio device must be present there.
If not, reinstall audio device

thanks
good luck

To me it looks as if the battery is not charged ok. I'm not sure if you can monitor the battery voltage, but if you could, and you saw the voltage drop bellow a certain voltage and the speaker stopped there, and you could repeat this that would be the case. But perhaps you just charge the battery and discharge it a few times, before you panic. Some batteries only start working with full power after a few charges.

Volume too low

If the volume is really low in the ear piece when talking on it, I've read where you can blow extremely hard into the earpiece. Over time the speaker will sometimes invert, causing it to perform terrible. A few hard blows in the earpiece can set the speaker back to normal. Hope this helps

Stopped working, all i hear is high pitched sound when attempting to record audio

Check the volume levels of your computer's speakers.
• Check if your computer's speakers are muted either in the operating system or on the
speakers themselves.
• Check your operating system's audio input settings.
• Check the microphone's volume and on/off settings.
• Restart computer.

If none of these steps resolve your issue, I would recommend pursuing replacement options
