I would contact your ISP for help with this one. It should work but you would want to check the LAN and WAN settings to make sure they work on the network since there have been changes.

I am using DLINK DWL-7100 Wireless AirPremier Access Point in unsecured mode. I cannot reach the logon page to enable security (192.168.0.50). Just keeps timing out.

To secure the router, first you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer) by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is usually 192.168.1.50 (default) The default administrative user name and password (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and bno password). If you cannot access it wirelessly, try accessing through wired connection. Otherwise, you can simply resetthe router to factory default setting, press and hold the reset button for few seconds (It is at the back of the router near the DC Power Jack). The LEDs will then blink and the routers factory settings wouls be restored.

Please note that after RESETTING THE ROUTER to defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Generally, after hard reset you get the connectivity, however, you have to make the connection secure etc.
Please, refer the product guide/manual and make configurations as per the details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Did you try speaking with linksys directly? They can walk you through the troubleshooting online. Switching channels is an option in the wireless section of the router setup. See the documentation for more information.

Connecting with a wireless router

The signal indicator only tells you that you are connected to the router. You need to make sure that your router is connecting to the internet. go to it's configuration page by browsing to http://192.168.0.1 (note that this address is correct for many routers but not all, check the manual to be sure) find the tests or diagnostic section and run the connection test.

Setting up my wireless

first connect the router via cable with the pc.
start internet-explorer, type in http://192.168.0.1.
this ip-adress maybe different for several routers, please read manual for the correct ip.
if ip is correct you can now see the menu of the router, type in your provider datas, secure the w-lan connection (wpa if possible), write down the passphrase you choosed. deconnect router - setup now your wireless usb-stick or w-lan card or use xp-assistent...type in your passphrase - should work now.
