Question about Frigidaire 24 in. FDB510LC Free-standing Dishwasher

The dishwasher in my kitchen doesn't seem to drain and it seems pump is not working

My dishwasher is working ok except that there is a big pool of (not a small pool)water left at the bottom when cycle finshes. I have a feeling that my drain pump is not working because I dont hear it go off during the washing cycle and there is a complete silence in between the washing. I want to reconfirm if this is what the problem is however dishwasher is not over-flowing water is not flowing out of it and I am thinking that this is because of some built-in safety mechanism.

My Frigidaire FDB510LC will not drain. The sink or disposal is not stopped up. I have looked down into where the water drains and there isnt any debris.

I INSTALLED A NEW GARBAGE DISPOSER AND THEN FOUND THAT THE DISHWASHER WOULD NOT DRAIN. READ THAT THERE WAS A SEAL IN THE NOZZLE OF THE GARBAGE DISPOSER THAT HAS TO BE REMOVED IF IT IS ATTACHED TO A DISHWASHER. I DISCONNECTED THE HOSE,WITHOUT REMOVING THE GARBAGE DISPOSER, PLACED A SCREWDRIVER IN THE HOLE AND HIT IT WITH A HAMMER AND KNOCKED IT OUT. REPLACED THE HOSE AND TIGHTENED THE RING AROUND THE HOSE. TURNED THE DISWASHER TO DRAIN AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY. MY MISTAKE FOR NOT READING THE DIRECTIONS THOROUGHLY. ALL IS WORKING WELL; HOPE THE SAME FOR YOU.

I just fixed the problem with my dishwasher. I removed the drain hose from the disposal and used my shop vac. to suck food particles out of the hose. That was after I removed the screen/filter from inside the dishwasher and cleaned that. Works normal again.

Wahmad, your safety device would be the float assy. First check your drain hose. If you have it going to a siphon break at the sink, these have a tendency to clog up. The drain pump is seperate from the wash motor. You can check to see if it's receiving voltage during the drain cycle with a meter. If you are showing voltage and no drain, there's your problem. Part number for the drain pump is 154407401. Catriver...post back.

The second led is flashing. Water did nit drain at first. Then drained. Cannot press the start/reset button, nothing happens. Sounds like the pump was working, now doesn't seem to be. Help!!!

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Water staying in machine after wash completed

Hello. Generally, the problem is debris in the drain pump or in the drain line which goes from the base of the machine up into the drain under the kitchen sink. Begin by removing the lower panel on the front of the dishwasher and disassembling the drain line there. Be prepared for about 3 cups of water. Then REmove the pump and visually examine it on the inside. If you don't find the debris there check the entire drain tube, and the connection area under the sink. J.

Water pooling up in bottom of dishwasher

is there any way to run the cycle from the beginning and listen to hear if the machine is draining at all when the cycle starts do you hear the water spraying on the inside ? if not then you have several different possibilities....clogged drain line, pump impeller broken(sounds like running but no action), water just flowing back to washer the last one's an easy fix just loop the excess drain hose up like a reverse "p" trap on a kitchen sink drain this keeps the water from flowing back to the machine

My motto is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it.", but in this case we will make an acception. Check the inside of the washer for a float device sitting on the bottom. Floats can get stuck or bent over, make sure it goes up and down freely

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
