Question about LG LST-3510A DVD Player/Receiver

1 Answer

LST-3510A Hello I have owned an LG DVD Player the LST-3510A for about 4 months. In that time I have used both the DVD player and the HDTV receiver functionality. I use the DVI output connector for both the DVD and HDTV output and it has worked wonderfully up until last night. (no other output cables have been used on the machine) Last night I placed a DVD into the machine that I have viewed before and I received an error message. Here is the message: "This disc is not available for viewing using the DVI monitor without HDCP capability. You may be able to view this disc using a different connector and removing the DVI cable." I tried 4 other disc that I have used before and they each received the same message. My HDTV receiver uses the same cable and it is working perfectly. Meaning, I can currently view HDTV channels. Additionally, I can also listen to CD's on the machine. Lastly, The machines tries to pick up the DVD signal when you first insert it. A picture from the DVD will flash on the screen for about 3 seconds and then it reverts to the above noted message. Can you tell me what is wrong with my machine?

Hello, I've been reading up on the LG LST, I got the same device. Two options that you may want to try (and there may be a third). 1st) Make sure nothing has happened to your DVI cable, make sure it is tight on both ends. Undo it and blow on the connectors and resecure it if need be. HDCP involves communication between the HDCP chip on your LST and the HDCP chip in you display. If you cable is loose, dog chewed or too long then it may be interfering with your HDCP handshake. 2nd) You should be able to go to RGB display option and dispay in HD over the same DVI cable. This was discussed much in the forums I have been reading about. I hope one of the above options helps you. In fact I hope the vacume or kids knocked the cable slightly loose and you are back in business after tightening it. The 3rd option would be to do a google search for LST-3510a and HDCP, you will find all kinds of solutions, work arounds and firmware update discussions. Good luck! Scott

I have a LG home theatre system model HT963TA(HT963TA,SH93TA-S/CW) THE DVD PLAYER "BLACKS OUT " FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIMES INTERMITANTLY.I TRIED CHANGING THE HDMI CONNECTION AND ALSO CHECKED THE DVD'S ON...

I have this problem too.If you set the DVD player resolution to 480p instead of 1080p it will not have the blackouts anymore. Of course this defeats the whole purpose of buying an "upscaling" DVD player. Just curious: what TV's are-you using?

ERROR-No DIsc

try going to LGs website and look under support/downloads for a Firmware update, or any other updates, and install them (usually by downloading a file, then burning a DVD or CD on your PC to insert in the player.
If this helps solve your problem, please give a fixya rating, everyone of them helps. Thanks for the question

LG RC797T Region Unlocking Codes

Purchased two of these VCR/DVD recorders (for the ATSC-digital tuner) in March 2007 at Best Buy. They play PAL/region 0 out of the box. To enable region-free playback I used the CD-ROM previously made for my LG LST-3510A. Visit this link for the files to burn your disc:

http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com/pages/lg/5000_series_firmware.html

Next:
--Power on the player and load the CD-ROM
--In a few moments a text box appears displaying current DVD region and a second line to change DVD region
--Press the number you wish (most likely "0") on the remote control
--Press "Enter" on the remote control
--In a few seconds the player will eject the disc. Remove the CD-ROM from the tray and power off

Upon powering on the player my region 2 and 4 DVD's play fine but Macrovision still remains.

OR

Click the HOME button on the remote with the unit in 480i resolution
Click the setup page
Click Start
Click TV Aspect
highlight the 16x9 wide aspect ratio
enter on remote control this coded sequence:
1397139

Edit specific "Options"

Option 2: 35 (enables Divx/Xvid playback)
Option 4: ff (enables Vcd and SVCD playback)
Option 5: ff (enables region free playback (region 0) DVD playback)
Option 6: ce (enables Insignia brand startup logo on boot)
Option 6: c0 (enables LG brand startup logo on boot)
