Question about Frigidaire ATF6000ES Front Load Washer
I have a frigidaire front load washer. removed part of back cover. can see belt is intact. it fills with water and drains when you rotate knob through cycles, but tub doesn't budge during any of this. Washer motor makes the sound like the motor is running, but no tub movement at all at any time. I can move tub by hand easily moving (drive wheel?) in back behind cover. Also when washer door is open tub rotates freely and easily. Door lock light is one and detergent drawer clicks close. Any ideas?
Don't have much experience on Frigidaire. Is the motor a brush type, capacitor type or one of those new DC types? If it's got brushes and they are ok, then I would say your armature is up the creek. If it's a capacitor type (unlikely) then the capacitor is most likely duff. If it's the new DC type it could be a lot of things, most likely the module which breaksdown and passes an AC component in the motor supply which make the motor tremble but not rotate

Pull the unit out from the wall and unplug it. Remove the back panel and check the counter weight (looks like a cement quarter round cement block), spider pulley and belt. The counter weight is attached to the top of the drum and can loosen and fall to the bottom damaging the spider pulley. If the counter weight is firmly attached to the top of the washer drum and the belt is attached to the spider pulley and motor, remove the top cover and lower front panel. Check to make sure the drum springs and shocks are attached to the drum. I hope you only need to bolt the counter weight back on and no other damage to the machine is found, you should get bake to business in about 40 minutes.
