Question about Frigidaire ATF6000ES Front Load Washer

Frigidaire front load washer won't spin, belt looks good, makes noise

I have a frigidaire front load washer. removed part of back cover. can see belt is intact. it fills with water and drains when you rotate knob through cycles, but tub doesn't budge during any of this. Washer motor makes the sound like the motor is running, but no tub movement at all at any time. I can move tub by hand easily moving (drive wheel?) in back behind cover. Also when washer door is open tub rotates freely and easily. Door lock light is one and detergent drawer clicks close. Any ideas?

I had service come out. The motor controller was bad. This is a part covered under warranty but here's the catch. You have to pay service to come out to diagnose it, cheapest I found was $50. Then they come out again to fix it after you get a reference number from Frigidaire, but you have to pay for labor, which is another $150 or so. Yes, it's cheaper than buying a new machine, but at about 4 years old it shouldn't require repairs.

Same problem here. Twice I opened the back and moved the wires around inside (can't say wich ones) and it worked again! for a full cicle, but then it would't spin again. I've realy had it with this machine!!!

Don't have much experience on Frigidaire. Is the motor a brush type, capacitor type or one of those new DC types? If it's got brushes and they are ok, then I would say your armature is up the creek. If it's a capacitor type (unlikely) then the capacitor is most likely duff. If it's the new DC type it could be a lot of things, most likely the module which breaksdown and passes an AC component in the motor supply which make the motor tremble but not rotate

How do I check the belts or springs holding the washer tub

to check the belt or Air shock , its easy to remove the rear access panel , you can have a look for shock and motor & belt but there are a lot of reason for your complaint for doesn't spin out water and noisy when spinning it may be have kinked in the drain hose or the spin start before pumping water out properly leads to load unevenly distributed in the movement of the drum, so i believe that your problem in pumping the water out. Frigidaire affinity front load washer

If the unit will not spin at all and makes a humming noise, sounds like something has seized up in the back of the unit. This could be a belt broken, motor seized up, or the transmission, if your unit has one, is gone.

Machine was draining and spinning and became off stopped working.when unplugged and then plugged back in, it will start to drain and try to spin but it makes a noise!

Pull the unit out from the wall and unplug it. Remove the back panel and check the counter weight (looks like a cement quarter round cement block), spider pulley and belt. The counter weight is attached to the top of the drum and can loosen and fall to the bottom damaging the spider pulley. If the counter weight is firmly attached to the top of the washer drum and the belt is attached to the spider pulley and motor, remove the top cover and lower front panel. Check to make sure the drum springs and shocks are attached to the drum. I hope you only need to bolt the counter weight back on and no other damage to the machine is found, you should get bake to business in about 40 minutes.

Frigidaire was tub makes loud thump noise during spin cycle....

Need more information to make an accurate diagnosis, try removing the front panel (two screws at bottom) and visually check first the belt (all the way around) and then the springs that hold the tub suspended.
I would bet on the belt.

Load noise in final spin cycle

turn the tub on the inside if it feels ruff as it turns and makes a noise then most likely you have a bad rear bearing, if it is smooth in turning and no noise then turn to drain or spin possibly something stuck in drain pump. the drain pump will start up first if you hear the noise then the drain pump is accessed from the front lower cover, if its the rear bearing probably not worth fixing about 400.00 in parts and alot of work.
