Question about Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver
Stuck on, waiting for valid GPS signal.
Either the GPS receiver section or the antenna section of your TomTom is faulty ..... or .... Software on your SD card is corrupted ....... or .... ( if you are in a country north of the equator ) and you don't have a clear view of the sky from east through south to west.
All the GPS satellite's are direct above the equator , very high up , this means if you look south and imagine a big rainbow in the sky but VERY VERY HIGH ( so it would be ' almost ' straight up ) this is where they are and your Tom Tom needs to have a clear view of this ' arc' in the sky. If a TomTom has lost the 'remembered' positions of the satellite's along this arc it can take it several minutes to scan and find them. Once it finds them , it remembers them so it can find them quickly again each time you switch on. So, try and make sure your TomTom can see this arc and has a clear view of it. Switch it on and leave it for about 4 or 5 minutes. If it doesn't get the signals then unfortunately it will be one of the first ' problems ' mentioned above. ..... Good luck.
