Power and front control box not working

I cannot turn my tv on or off, the power buttons on the front panel are not working at all, no volume control nothing at all. My remote is not responding to the tv either....I have left the tv on and am currently having to turn off the cable box only which is blacking out the screen where it looks off but the power is still on..... Any suggestion on how to fix? Thanks

Try a har reset, by unplugging the Tv for about 5 minutes then plug it back in and see if the remote functions are restored..

    Roxy,

Thank you for a final comment and letting me know how things turned out. It is rare that techs such as myself get that opportunity especially those like me who are donating their time and efforts just to help and don't know if we're actually making a difference.

Front panel buttons on Philips rear projection do random things

Leaky tact switches on control panel. Part number is 242212802742. Takes 6. They will cost you around 6.00 a piece. Lower front panel pulls off. Be careful as there are two cables attached to htis panel. This should take care of your issues.

TV is not responding to the remote control.

The set may have defaulted to a front panel lockout. To defeat that on the front of the set hold down the MENU button for 15 seconds and see if it will then power up. I know that doesn't solve the problem with the remote but one step atta time. These sets are prone to leaky switches on the control panel and when that happens the micro cannot accept two different commands at the same time. That could be why the remote is not working.

Tv ws-65511 volume stuck

Did you ever get this problem fixed? Ours just started doing the same thing. It worked fine the night before, but today it's doing what yours is doing. The remote stopped working for the TV. The remote still works for the cable box, but volume and anything related to TV function not. The screen flashes when we try to adjust volume or anything else, but resets to previous volume. TV not responding to any commands either on the front panel or remote.
Any ideas? Thanks, Patti

Tv turns on manually, but auto flips through channels and you can't use remote

Found this in another forum (www.hometheaterspot.com) and it fixed my remote problem:

"...it's possible that one of the front panel buttons is "stuck" or shorted, and this could cause the TV to ignore commands from the front panel or remote. But this should also cause the Power command to be ignored, too. You might try pulling off the front panel and disconnecting the front panel buttons and then see if the remote works."
