Coleman direct vent forced air gas furnace and asthma

Does anyone know if type of heater can make asthma worse? Every time we use it I have awful coughing and shortness of breathe. Is there anything that can be done to stop the problem?

Thanks. I actually have an air filter with a uv light, but as soon as the heater goes on my coughing is spastic. We even put filters on the ducts. I am not sure where to get a uv light or how to install, but I suppose we can find out at a hardware store. Thanks again.

i hope the heater doesnt come on when a limit switch is open, you really have problems. so a limit is telling you that your furnace it over heating. first check filter and heat vents and returns they must be clean and open. closing heat vent or blocked returns will cause over heating. after chacking this look at firing rate. furnace could be overfired. you would need a "u" gauge to check manifold pressure. your name plate will tell you what this should be. find the tap on the burner manifold or outlet of gas valve. fire furnace and see what it is. 3.5"wc for nat and 10" wc for propane maybe.

My Coleman direct vent forced air furnace 7995-656/D will fire up but the auto fan does not come on. I can cheat this by cutting the fan to on after the burner heats up. Whats my problem?

two things the pressure switch not working or the fan control afc not working could need cleaning at the back of the afc try this the afc works on temp rise to bring on the fan afc temp fall to shut of fan so it sound like the afc is not coming on at temp rise, also check if air filter is clean

I JUST BOUGHT A USED COLEMAN EVCON FURNACE MODEL #BGU09516 AND I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO VENT IT. PLEASE HELP, THANKS

It should have a two part chimmney with a 4 inch inner exhaust section and a larger 6 inch outer section that goes over the flange on the top of the furnace. If your existing chimmney does not have this you may have to buy a chimmney kit for a mobile home application.

Furnace clicks multipal times while running. Is this normal?

As it starts and stops several switches will open and/or close, sometimes you can hear them. When it's just running then it may make a few noises from expansion and/or contraction.

Heater flashes 3 times says it means combustion switch failed to close

Combustion switch is your vent safety.. Check your vents outside for blockage, sometimes the intake pipe will freeze or frost up not allowing the preassure switch(vent safety)to close. putting furnace into a lock out.. you can reset the furnace by turning the power on and off.. if there is no power switch just remove the bottom door and reinstall...
