When typing text, the screen/page won't advance when I come to the bottom of the screen, so I can't see what I'm typing. I received an email that someone answered this problem, but there was nothing written as to a solution.
this is a huge problem for someone who types constantly on big text projects.

Internet Explorer lets you have more than one home page (that open in different tabs), which you probably don't want and that might be what is confusing you.
1) Click on the Start menu (bottom-left corner of your screen) and type 'Internet Options' (no quotes)
2) Click on the Internet Options programs that appears in the list
3) The window that pops up will be in the 'General' tab
4) In the 'Home page' section, clear out all the text in there and type in (without quotes) "https://www.google.com"
5) Click OK and the window will close
6) Restart Internet Explorer
1. Go to Start > Run. 2. Enter "regedit" into the text box. 3. Click OK.
Find and right-click the following registry:
3. Select Modify. 4. Delete the value. 5. Click OK.
Modifying reg keys is an advanced process, so ask your system administrator for help if you don't feel comfortable.
also you might try

You can see a small magnifying glass icon with a number next to it, denoting the size of the text. Click on the arrow next to this to change the size of the text/images on screen.

LOL..I put the solution in the Clarification Request. Oh well. In Office 2007 Word, In the Document, put the cursor where you want the Footnote reference #, go to the References Tab above, click, then click once on Insert Footnotes button....the footnote # will appear next to the text, and the footnote # will also automatically be placed at the bottom of the page, ready for you to type in your comments.
this sounds like a version number problem otherwords
check the type face you're using and make sure that one is installed on the other one,
MS will sometimes use a compatible font if the font is not found and yes it looks jumbled
